Sunflower Cake - Side View

Sunflower Cake - Side View on Cake Central

Side view of my sunflower cake. Iced with buttercream, the petals are fondant formed overnight on the Wilton flower formers. The middle of the sunflower is the top of a cupcake covered in chocolate BC dots.

BEAUTIFUL! silly question but how do you cut a cake with a big fondant design on top? Do you remove the fondant or does it cut easily?

Now that is what I was trying to do with one of mine, Didn't even put it on here. it was so bad. I wish I had see this then to help me figure it out. This is great.

my 3boys, I wasn't there when they cut the cake, but since the fondant is dried, I think they took the pieces off and then cut...susan, if you try again let me know! I can help! :)
