This cake was done in the lightest shade of mint which I thought would be a pretty background colour for Spring. The hand-piped lace pattern with the tulips was inspired by the lace pattern from the lace doily on the Pintrest board. Also from the board, I knew I wanted to include bright shades such as yellows, pinks, blues and greenery, keeping in mind that daisies and daffodils were a must! All flowers are buttercream, except for the daffodils (I already had them made before I re-read the 'buttercream' rule, oops!). I thought the fondant bird with the rice paper wings was a cute little addition, given that birds are often a first sign of Spring. Finally, I incorporated the "Hello Spring" message on chalkboards; one of which I drew by hand to mimic the one from the inspiration board. I apologize in advance for all of the photos, I couldn't decide which I liked the best!
