Sooo Cute!!!! I love ladybugs, what a wonderful design!!
My daughter absolutely goes wild over lady bugs. Please share - are the bodies fondant? This is beautiful.
Really cute !
no, they are buttercream free-handed on...I piped the red on, and then used cornstarch to smooth them down.
I absolutely adore this cake!!! Please explain the cornstarch technique. I've never heard of it!!!
I like it! Really cute!
Wonderful cake...the ladybugs are so cute!
very, very cute cake!
thanks for all the great comments...the cornstarch method is just a way to smooth out your icing without adding taste, or messing up the appearance. Just tip your finger in cornstarch and lightly press down on the design...any excess residue will dissolve into the icing, and it leaves no after-taste. How I do the nose and eyes on the Elmo face (see my photos).
Really cute! You did a nice job with the vine design too, not too crowded or sparse!
OK, this in in my favorites! I love it....so adorable! You are very talented!
Thanks for your inspiration - I'm posting my version tonight.
