My niece picked this out of Colette Peters book "Cakes to Dream On" for her birthday cake. I ran out of time so it's not exactly what I planned but the birthday girl absolutely loved it. She named him Carl and it became a big joke for the adults when it was time to cut it. All fondant covered.

Mary-Ann I saw this in Colette Peter's book and wanted to try it, Was it difficult? It looks really fiddly and time consuming, you've done a fantastic job
franjmc - It did take longer than I planned but it wasn't difficult. The tail, legs and tongue are done ahead of time. It just took so darn long to make and put all the scales on. I cheated a little and put the green on the bottom to make it a little quicker. Make sure to post a picture if you try it.
