This was iced in buttercream with fondant decorations. I colored the blue buttercream and fondant at the same time so they would match. I didn't want to cover the cake with fondant. The buckle and star were gray fondant painted silver. I used a clay extruder to make the rope. Thanks for all of the ideas on this site! I combined several!
