So, here's a present cake. It's white with a dulce de leche filling and rolled buttercream. Let me tell you, I'm never going to use that filling again if I can help it. My boyfriend requested it but it's a pain in the butt, always seeping out even though I put a double layer of stiff buttercream frosting around the edge to dam the stuff in. The rolled buttercream didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. It was quite shiny. Is that normal? I see so many cakes on here that look better. I know I'm still very new, but I want to learn so badly! Please, suggestions are desperately wanted.
