I made this cake for my husband's 40th birthday. We are both huge Star Trek fans so I wanted this to be special. The top cake was made in the small oval pan. It was red velvet and I made a fbct star trek communicator badge for it. The next cake was a 10" round with an fbct of the United Federation of Planets symbol on it and it was a chocolate cake. The bottom cake was the large hexagon and it was white cake. I made an fbct of the Enterprise-original series for it. I bought some Enterprise sugars to stick on the sides of that cake. I covered all three cakes in chocolate/black buttercream icing trimmed out in burgandy shells.
