The entire cake is iced in buttercream, then chocolate woodgrain sides are added with royal icing placques of the word "Scrabble" painted with gold luster dust. The game board is a large edible image pieced together and I piped over the lines with white royal to give it a dimensional look, then made the game pieces out of chocolate fondant and applied edible image letters to them! The cake board even spins with the help of lazy susan hardware!
