My Goddaughter was turning one, and her Christening was happening within days of her birthday, so her mom (my close friend) asked me for a combi cake for the big party. The bottom layer was my Old Fashioned Chocolate, and the top layer was butter yellow, iced in all BC. I tried to find the balance between the elegance that my friend wanted for this upscale party, while keeping it...hmmm...innocent and young looking are maybe the right words?
