I let my imagination run wild with this cake. The little girl's only request was that there be a sun on top and the cake not be the shape of a ladybug. So, I decided to use the them from the book "Ten Little Ladybugs" and ran with it. Different sections of the cake tell a different part of the story. Bottom and top are chocolate, middle is vanilla. Icing is buttercream. Flowers and leaves are fondant as well as the sun's rays. The sun itself is a ball of chocolate cake. This cake so much fun to make.
