critique subgroup member: GREAT CAMO!! that camo is perfect! I like the banner, looks like real wood! maybe could have been a bit lighter to show the lettering better, but then that might be lighting in the pic?? watch the borders, make sure they are evenly sized and spaced, that gives a cleaner more finished look! and again the cake board could have been a bit bigger. Overal I really like this cake and I am sure the birthday boy did too!!

Critique Subgoup Member: The camouflage looks nice; both borders are erratic in size and crooked; the writing is very nice; the banner is painted well for woodgrain, but should have been lighter; I would have buried the base of the soldiers in the buttercream; overall good colors. Nice job.

critique group member: I lovethe camo on the sides of the cake! It looks like you did a diff. border on the top of the cake right by the river...doesn't look even or smaller than the other. the river and the sign is a nice touch but the sign could've been a lot lower and space in the center on the back of the cake. very nice job with the different color grass and borders...also a very nice cake of yours! LOVE the camo! :D

Critique subgroup member: This is a little boys dream. Seems to be old school with the plastic army. I had the same issue with old school Three Little Kittens. Got grief. Anyway the icins is very smooth, your camo is awsome!!! Sign is to high above the cake though & a bit too big for the design. Your handwriting is great, but the color is different from anything else on the cake. You know your modeling on the pony shows you could have modeled a cool up-to-date GI Joe & would be a KOOL cake also. H2O is A1!

critique subgroup member: I love your camo and how the brighter green really stands out against the darker greens of the border. Yeah- the borders need work- maybe practice them some on parchment paper to get the feel of the pressure you need for more consistency. Your banner rocks :)

Critique subgroup member: I really like the colors and the camo. I'm not a fan of the plastic toys, but then I understand if that's what they wanted or time limitations or whatever...it's just me, not you. Good job on the banner! A hill added to the scene would have been nice too, but the river is really neat. :)

Critique group member: Very nice the camo looks perfect! I think that is supposed to be the rope border, am I right? It needs work. I would recommend getting out some icing and a practice board and work on your borders

critique subgroup member: Very cool. Masculine cakes can be tough (for me anyway) but you nailed this one. The camo is perfect and I like the water. I see some inconsistencies in the border (mainly near the base of the water), but do not know if that was intentional or not. I agree that the banner should maybe be a little lighter in color and shorter (sitting closer to the cake). I do think the colors you created are absolutely perfect for this cake. Great job.

critique group member: Agree on the borders. Practicing will help tremendously. I prefer the borders to look square instead of round, note bottom left makes the cake look crooked. I love the camo!! I don't even mind the army men - what boy wouldn't love them on a cake?
