I just saw the post about Collette Peters teaching in Orlando. It starts on my birthday... I just told hubby that I know what I want for my birthday and I can't believe it, but he said I should do it. It's a three day class, and I'm so excited. Have any of you taken her class? How was it? What should I expect? I feel like jumping up and down right now.

That´s great and what a wonderful birthday that will be. I´ve been at her class in April in NY, the wedding cake 3-day-course, and it was worth every minute. She showed us on the first 2 days the techniques and what to do with them and than we had to decorate a 3-tier cake free-style as we liked it. She gave hints and the little extras input so all 12 cakes looked totally different, but, naturally, all a little bit "Colette Peters" icon_biggrin.gif .
I´m really looking forward to see your cake thumbs_up.gif

Congratulations! I've done a couple of Demo classes with her and she is very nice and sharing. Where in Orlando is this class going to be?

Is it at the NOTTER school???

I was thinking about going up there for the sugar class during my winter break..but I found out he no longer teaches the Geisha doll nor the clown.

I Knew about Notter's school when he was in Gaithersburg..sorry! ( I'm practically a non functioning ameba without my coffee!)

and I thought he was expensive then..now he's over the moon..

But, will try to get up there before he raises his price again..lol

Enjoy yourself! Don't forget to say Hello to the mouse..lol

I'm thinking about it still, I am just curious if you learn any more or less than the wilton class in Illinoins, since the one in Orlando is a day shorter.

I only live an hour away though so it would be cheaper driving back and forth than staying in a hotel.

I might be seeing you there, I just don't know yet.

mpitrelli, that great! Hope lots of FL CCers can come. I'm just getting a little nervous about my skill level. I don't want to embarrace myself.

Now don't you dare feel like that kiddo! We all are at different levels, from what I hear the people that take her courses are all at different levels too. And besides, from everything I have ever heard about her, she is just the sweetest person, so varying skill levels won't matter one bit. Besides if you were perfect at whatever she is teaching, well you wouldn't be going now would you? You go and have some fun!

Congratulations peacockplace, you go ahead and have fun and enjoy the class while you can. You can't pass this opportunity up. I hope that you can take a tape recorder if she allows you to. Tape recorders are so nice to have, I know that you can bring them to college, for the just in case you miss out on the notes coming from the teacher. Take one with out any way and take it to class and then ask whether or not you can use it. Bring extra batteries and cassettes if you remember cause you are going to need them. Again, have fun and bring back good tips for use to share. thumbs_up.gificon_smile.gif

I am still wondering if this class would be as thorough and cover as much as the Wilton classes.

I'm so undecided, I can only do this once, so I am wondering which class would teach the most... this one in Orlando or Wilton in Illinois?
