Coming right up ......will that be the virgin or spiked rum version........
I'm a lightweight so that better be a virgin or there will be swinging from chandeliers!
ZUPPA INGLESE - sponge cake or ladyfingers dipped in Alchermes, a bright red, extremely aromatic Italian herb liqueur. They are then alternated with layers of crema pasticciera, a thick egg custard cooked with a large piece of lemon zest (removed afterwards). Often there is also a layer of crema alla cioccolata made by dissolving dark chocolate in a plain crema pasticcera. In Italy it is occasionally topped with cream, meringue or almonds.[1]

@moreCakePlz fun thread! Thanks for starting it :-) I think I've gained 10lbs just looking at all the yummy desserts and now I want to try making some of them!
@moreCakePlz Completely agree with what kstevens said!
A really great way to explore new recipes, and another reason to use google!!! lol
@kakeladi Strawberry Lemon??

Everything looks so amazing. Now everyone has to bake one of each!!
carolinecakes -- the dough is stretched out on the back of your hands -- it's really a kick to make -- it's like magic that it does that --
kakeladi, you asked me how long ago I made that strudel pictorial -- maybe10-ish years ago -- and I make it solo not in a group although my husband would help me these days if I made it -- it's not hard really -- I learned how to make it out of a cook book -- and I've been making it since my daughter was a baby -- I used to sell it --
How about we re-start this thread with different desserts? I'll start this this idea: http://www.countryliving.com/food-drinks/recipes/a777/apple-cardamom-cakes-cider-icing/
you're on, miss lynne --
B -- banana fritters made with date sugar
@kakeladi great idea to start this up again. It was fun last time.
I always called these things brownie truffle cups not realizing they are actually truffle brownie cups but I'm gonna go with my version of the name and use them for "B". They are really simple to make & you can dress them up to look fancier. I make them quite often for parties and everyone always likes them. Worth a try in my mind:
except i gotta go find my recipe brb...forgot about the recipe part ha!
so -- good thing we have a viable "b" recipe in the meantime :)
brb
Hey, come on everybody........someone must have some special recipe that starts with "C"?
Oh alright, I'll add this one: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/coconut-dream-dessert-recipe.html
Now who's next with a super special dream dessert that uses dates? or Donuts or such? :)
My turn!
For the D, I'll go with the Danish pastry. What's better than puff pastry anyway? I could eat those little piece of love all day long... Is'nt fruit after all.. can't be that bad! ;)
