I have, and it was really yummy! If you have the google document, I used the chocolate WASC listed on there, then after baking, I brushed it with a simple syrup made with coffee instead of water .

Yep...but there are a few changes: I swap out (cold) coffee for the water and swap vanilla for the almond extract. Only 3 eggs. Everthing else the same (oil, sour cream, etc.)
I 've also done this with Hazelnut liquor (Frangelico) instead of coffee (we are not coffee drinkers). It was delicious!

i tried this recipe and used pillsbury cake mix (it was on sale). it was yucky - should i have used another brand?
