Congrats on cleaning your room Tracy! icon_smile.gif

I LOVE cheese, it seems like most women do though doesn't it? I am very careful at home to measure it when I'm putting it on something I'm eating, I limit myself to about 1/2 an ounce a few times a week. If I had a choice I would sit down and eat the whole block at once! LOL!!!

My official weigh in day, for myself, is Monday and I am down since Monday but I put on a couple inches, not sure why as I was pretty much good all week except for the pizza and cake incident... Oh well, I'm still in my size 32s for a while anyways! I went out on Saturday night and bought a couple new bras and some new sexy undergarments. icon_smile.gif Everyone needs a leopard print thong right? RIGHT?? LMAO....

Another busy week upon me. icon_sad.gif I will check in on Wednesday with that days weight! Sending everyone "lose-weight" vibes!

Laughing. I just bought a leopard print bra recently, but no thong to go with it. I actually have a Victoria Secerts gift card I've been holding on to for when I finally do lose weight to treat myself with. icon_smile.gif

Congrats on the loss, I'm sure you will see those inches go away again soon too!!

I love cheese myself. I now buy it in only three forms. I have presliced cheese for sandwiches, pre-grated that I measure out (and I usually use a half or forth of the serving amount) and then stick/block cheese. The 'snack' cheese is for munching but it is a preportioned size so I won't end up eating a half of a block. I know the block is cheaper than the stick and grated cheese, but for me there are some things that it is worth spending a little more on.

Have a good week and see you on Wed!

alright girls!!! I've been doing this 1500 calorie a day thing for a little over a week now and I am seeing GREAT results!! Just weighed myself this morning (curious) and I'm another 3 lbs. lighter!

It's getting much easier as the days go on to keep within my alotted calories too. I just found these popsicles too that I thought I'd share with you guys!

You might already know about them, anyhow I got them at Sam's Club and they are "Philly Swirl" brand and these particular ones are orange and vanilla cream, cherry and vanilla cream, and very berry and vanilla cream. So they have that "creamsicle" flavor to them, but I think they taste just like a smoothie.

Anyhow, they are sugar free, fat free, and only 16 calories each! What a wonderful snack for a sweet treat! yum!

Just thought I'd share with ya!

Yummy with the popsicles! icon_smile.gif

I've found a fudge bar, it is either fudge delite or just fudge light. Not sure what brand it is off the top of my head but I got them at Walmart. One bar is 45 calories and it still has a great chocolate taste and texture, not watered down.

You are just cruising along aren't you? icon_smile.gif

I'm worried about weigh in tomorrowm, because I know my eating out has to catch up with me at some point. Plus I've been craving salt again, and that is never a good thing to have too much of before a weigh in. But I'll take what the scale gives me and work on doing better this coming week.

I'm sitting here watching the clock count down. I'm ready to get out of here so I can go clean! I'm going to tackle my living room tonight and hopefully get started in the dinning room. I figure I can watch Biggest Loser and be productive at the same time! icon_smile.gif

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick pop in to say hi. My weight keeps bouncing around - gain a couple of pounds, lose a couple of pounds. I haven't been able to get as much exercise in as usual. I'm going to try to go on a very long bike ride tomorrow. But it's going to be a VERY busy day!

I'll try to update more tomorrow. Lots of family drama going on!

Great work on the weight loss to everyone!

speaking of Biggest Loser, I found a Biggest Loser calorie book that has been such a great help!

It lists all kinds of regular food (that doesn't have labels) like tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. but also entire meals...like lasagna, tacos, shepherd's pie, etc. so you have an idea of the calories. Has made my life SO much easier with figuring out the calorie content in stuff! I got it at CVS pharmacy for $7.99. It's literally just alphebatized lists of food, and they have sections too....vegetables, meat, entrees, snacks, desserts, dining out (tons of restaurants listed with calories for dishes)

Really cool, thought I'd share!

Tracy: gotta go get some fudge bars..........the ones I have are 60 calories each (they're not low fat, just "no sugar added").............would be great to find some with even lower calories, I do love chocolate!!

Well I'm up this week. icon_sad.gif It was bound to happen after all my eating out, not to mention my major salt cravings the last two days and Aunt Flow planning her visit.

Week 11 weight - March 24 - 139.0
Week 10 weight - March 17 - 138.4
Week 9 weight - March 10 - 140.0

I'm not subtracting it from my weight loss or my goal number from last week. I'm just going to pick back up next week where I left off, especially since I really don't think it is a fat gain.

I've got to work hard to make this coming week a better week. I'm not giving up, just need to get back on track and stay there.

Ive been meaning to post my measurements, but kept forgetting, so here we go....

Jan 10
Bust: 40
Below bust: 33.5
Waist: 35
Hips: 42

March 14
Bust: 39
Below bust: 33
Waist: 33
Hips: 40.5

You're proof of what a little determination can get all of us! Congratulations!!!!

KH, those were probably my measurements back before the 6 grade myself. And those are just from the 15lbs loss. Somewhere on a scrap piece of paper I have measurements from back in 2006.

I'd say take them, if just for a refernce. icon_smile.gif Sometimes it is nice to look back at those, even when that darn scale takes a day off. Also take pictures. In the beginning I found it easier to see where I had lost when I compared pictures side by side.

Again, I am wrapped up in meetings and haven't been around. I hope to catch up with you all over the weekend!

I didn't weigh myself Wednesday, but was still at 167 this morning. I haven't been eating the greatest due to getting home too late and resorting to crappy take out. I have been sticking with my running but have delayed weights for the last 5 days. I need to get a good weight work out in the weekend too! icon_smile.gif

Hope all is well...

Hey guys,
Hope everyone is doing well and has had a wonderful week. Once again, have been busy and not around come weigh in day. However my weight this morning shows a slight loss. Nothing to jump up and down about but a loss is a loss, right? I really think I've pretty much reached my plateau and I need to do something to give my metabolism a boost. As soon as I get some time to myself, I'll try to figure out how to do that. icon_rolleyes.gif Sooooo, from start to now:
Jan 4th 183 lbs
today 159.0
Total loss this year of 24 pounds.....
I hope everyone else is doing good and staying strong. I've got a couple pages that I need to catch up on when I have a few more minutes. Sorry I haven't been on much. One of these days, the business will slow a bit and I'll have more opportunity to get on here and really chat.
Take care everyone and I hope you all have a great week-end!!!!

Thanks so much for sharing the popsicle info. That really sounds great. Also, the biggest loser book. Gotta go looking for that one. Great stuff......

yep, nice to see that if I actually make an effort it does pay off!1 I've had times when I wasn't being QUITE as honest as I should've been with what I was eating and then stood there like "why isn't the scale moving" well DUH! I knew why! The first couple of days were really rough, I literally felt like I was starving.........but now my body has adjusted to the new foods and the new portion size (probably 1/3 of what I was eating before) and I'm not hungry all the time, so it's definitely getting better.

They say (whoever THEY are) that it takes 2 full weeks to form a habit....hopefully I've formed one! lol

Katherine and Margie, I've missed ya'll! But we all know life will be busy and we have to work with it.

Things have been going a little better with me since Wed. Mood wise I've been up and down but that is more about Aunt Flo getting ready for her visit than anything else. Tonight I am going to Walmart to stock up on stuff. Hopefully I'll get time to do my veggie cut up prep tonight if not I'll work on that tomorrow after class.

I am also planning on cleaning some more. I need to finish the dining room, then move on to the extra bed room. I'm thinking I'll leave the kitchen and cake room last, because those will be the two harder areas to get rid of stuff in. But I'll try my best.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Do something fun! HUGS!

KHalstead - yeah, the scale always lets us know when we've (fudged) a little bit.. lol It really sounds like you have found the right amount of calories to consume for you to lose weight and yet be satisfied. That's really great!!
Tracy - So glad that you are feeling a bit better. All of your cleaning is reminding me that it's about time to do my spring cleaning. I take one room a day. I really need to tackle the closets and get some clothes out of there that are totally outdated. I tend to hang on to stuff waaaay too long. But ya know I always find that the minute time I throw something out, it comes back in style. icon_lol.gif

KH, that is why I fully believe in taking baby steps. When we change all kinds of habits at once it can get overwhemling and we quit easily. I'm glad you stuck with the eating less, because now it is paying off huh?

If you are hungry all the time though, I'd review what you are eating. Are you getting the whole grains and fiber that our bodies take longer to digest? And are you drinking enough through out the day. Thirst can present its self as a hungry feeling too.

I actually heard it takes 21 days to form a new habit. Either way I think we just have to keep on with the new things that we are replacing the old with. After a while, they become easier to do and we stop thinking about it.

Margie, I'm sort of cleaning house, decluttering and spring cleaning all in one. So far I have done three rooms with four left. My bedroom was the first, and it feels great to have only clothes that fit in there. I can find my clothes easier, what I wear is actually in the dresser or closet and not in a clothes basket cause I don't have room. And it is nice to come home from work to a clean living room, more relaxing.

I'm hoping soon the rest of the house will be relaxing, even though the cleaning out process has it's stressful moments. I'm not good at letting go of things. Espeically when maybe someday I can use them again. An example would be a stack of about 4 or 5 note pads in the desk drawer. They had been there since I moved in over five years ago, and even though I haven't used them, I had make myself put them in the to go stuff.

Over all I know I have too much junk in the house, and it will be much better when I clear it out. So I try to keep that thought in my head as I am doing it, but man sometimes it is just plan hard.

I'm also working on a budget and meal planning. I'm trying to get the other areas in my life organized and on track as well.

Tracy- I'm not hungry all the time now....just the first 2 days! The first day I literally thought "I know what starving people must feel like a little bit" I mean my stomach actually hurt and felt like it was turned inside out! I have NEVER been that hungry in all my life, I kept telling myself "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and I got through the day, day 2 I was hungry, famished between meals (I eat breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, late afternoon snack, dinner, and sometimes something later on at night too)........but it was all I could do to make it to the times when I told myself I should be hungry.

I guarantee MOST of it was just my brain telling me I SHOULD be eating, because I normally ate so much more....but I knew that I shouldn't be hungry, even though my stomach was saying I was.

Day 3, I started eating a more substantial breakfast and wasn't hungry for my mid morning snack, but ate it anyhow.....and I guess my body figured out these were the times I was going to be eating and now there is absolutely no hunger pangs between meals. About 10 min. before the time I normally eat lunch and dinner I get absolutely famished, which is good....it's nice to actually feel hungry when it's time to eat. On a regular basis, I would go through the day before NEVER feeling hungry....because I was just eating so much, and so often that I never actually got hungry.

Now, I'm being sure to listen to my body and realize whether I'm actually hungry or not. I'm eating lots of whole grains, and always have a protein with my carbs, I cut out my salt intake as well.......that's why I think a lot of that inital weight was just water.

I give myself Sundays as a "cheat day" where I don't keep track of calories but obviously still try to make good choices. We eat a LOT at church, after morning services and after evening services it's like a full on buffet!! I limit myself to ONE helping through the line, and things I know are high in calories I get just a mouthful and the things that I know are low cal and good for me...I get several scoops of on my plate, and I go for the small salad plates instead of the 9" dinner paper plates.

So far over these 2 weeks I've done good on my "cheat days"....haven't actually "cheated" yet lol. I added up the calories just to see how I did, and both times I didn't go over by more than 15 calories, so I consider that a victory that I'm learning enough about what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat, and most importantly when to STOP eating!!

I'm having an issue with getting jump started again. I'm just in between baby weight with #1 and #2. I lost all the baby weight from #2, but am still about 11lbs away from baby #1 pre-preg weight. And then I still have 20 more or so to my ultimate goal. I need to get on track!!!!!!!

KH, sounds like you have a good thing going. I can't ever plan a cheat day cause it would vary too much. There are times when I do go over my daily number, but that is okay, it happens and as long as I keep it on the lower side.

Listening to your body is a great reminder for all of us. Sometimes we forget to do that. It does tell us things like we need to eat and when we should be done eating. It can be pretty smart sometimes.

CakeHouse, good luck getting on track. Sometimes getting started is the hardest part. But just remember after you get started, it does get easier!

I just sat down and planned out a meal plan for next week, finally. I have to do some checking when I get home for what I need from the store and complete my list. I'm hoping this will get easier. My problem is now only planning the meals out, but trying to make sure the calorie amounts balance out. It'd be so much easier if I didn't have to do that. HeHe.

Yes!! Planning is key. I've done the weight loss thing a million and one times. This time I'm so serious cause I'm done having babies icon_smile.gif SO I know its not going to just come back.

One of the times I did it, I got the biggest loser books. They actually reccomend a "cheat day" so that your metabolism doesn't go dormant. They say that the contestants get a "cheat meal" just after the weigh in. The way I've always approached a cheat day, and what has worked for me, was by just not counting points, or calories that day. Just making it an unplanned day, didn't mean I ate like a crazy woman, just that I didn't think about it. Which actually would turn out that I stayed within my limits because I was so worried. I think it was the key for me, to learn how to maintain it. Because I knew I was not going to count it forever.

There is usually a meal or two a week that I go over my calories, or am more relaxed about. I just don't ever do it on a certain day. If I had a cheat day on Thursday, and ate a little over, then it would be my luck that I'd be invited out to eat on Friday. icon_smile.gif It all averages out in the end though.

Okay, meal plan is done for two weeks now. Time to make the grocery list, and head off shopping. I'm cleaning tonight, hopefully cleaning tomorrow night and I think I will use Sunday for a prep day for the week.

About to leave work singing, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...get something done this week."

Cakehouse, that's exactly how I hand my "cheat day"!

Tracy, when I sit down to make a grocery list, I start by listing all the things we're out of........trash bags, sandwich bags, milk, eggs, etc.

Then I make a list of "meals" for the week. (think of things you know are within your calories range that you've made before), then list them making sure you have enough for dinner every night that week. Then fill in your list with everything necessary to prepare those meals........then figure out what you want for lunch (usually I eat just about the same thing everyday for lunch/breakfast...maybe 2 different things the entire week.....so that's easier to think of than dinners)

I always grab a couple quick things too, that I can grab in a pinch (like low cal t.v. dinners) this way if I'm forced to make a meal that is just TOO high in calories I always have a back up plan!

I find that when I have a list in hand I have a plan and I pretty much stick to it! Where if I'm just in the store with no list, I buy whatever strikes my fancy and come home with nothing but yogurt and low fat chocolate bars! lol And no dinner!!

Hello everyone!!

I just skimmed through the posts, no time to sit and read this morning!

Butternut, WOW!!! Great work.

I have got to get back on track. My weight keeps fluctuating, I can't keep my weight down! I know that I need to make some major changes to get things moving again. I've got to start moving more. I really want to get either the Biggest Loser for the wii or the wii fit plus. I'm not sure which would be better for me and the kids. I'll have to do a little research. I know that with summer getting here I will be less likely to go outside. Except to swim. I don't do well in the heat! Ok, I don't like to sweat!! I also have to get a handle on the eating. I'm not doing too bad, just not as good as I should be.

Ok, I'm off to get some kind of exercise in! I hope that everyone has a great morning!

Melissa
