Where did you get your Sketchers? Were they priced like most of the Sketchers shoes?

They laugh at me at work, because I won't use the intercom. I get up from my desk and go out to the shop to tell them they have a phone call. I'm like it's a few extra steps in my day, and it doesn't hurt me. I don't have far to walk but when you do it several times a day it adds up.

I don't have a Wii, so I can't help ya with that Wii Active.

I got them from Shoe Carnival and they were $124.93. Normally I don't pay so much for my tennis shoes but when I read that they also strengthen your knees, I thought, I'd give them a try. It's the only shoes that I know of that come with a dvd that shows you how to walk in them. icon_lol.gif

I like the look of sketchers and my mom wears their regular ones. I just have trouble paying alot for shoes and can never find sketchers in my size when they go on sale.

Yeah, me too. I picked up the shoes, tried them on. Held them for a while, walked around. Put them back on the shelf, picked them back up. Must have done this 3 or 4 times before finally marching up to the register. I had a hard time paying that much for them. But I kinda thought that if it did half of what it claims to, they were worth it. I still felt guilty about it though..... My daughter has a small foot too Tracy and it was always difficult to buy for her. I don't think I EVER saw her size in a shoe that was on sale. It can be frustrating..

I can get lucky now and then. Depending on the shoe I wear a size 6, sometimes smaller. Next time you go to Payless look at how big the Size 6 section is. Last time I was in there it was about 6 boxes wide and that was it. By the time shoes make it to clearance I am lucky if I can find one in my size.

You get use to it. It is kinda like finding a short dress or skirt.

Yeah, my daughter wears a 5 1/2 and my mom wore a size 5.. Very difficult to find. Ya know what's funny? When I lost weight some years back, I went in to buy a new pair of shoes and I actually had to get a size smaller shoe. I was talking to the sales lady and I mentioned to her that I hadn't worn that size in a long long time and that the shoe must just come larger than the size indicated. She asked me if I had lost weight and I told her I had lost 55 pounds and she said that my feet got smaller too. icon_eek.gif Still doesn't make sense cause the bones are the same size, right???? Weird.....

I can believe the smaller shoe. I've bought anywhere from the higher kid's sizes to closer to 7s. The 7s were when I was heavier.

Does your daughter look at any of the kids shoes? The top few sizes of kids shoes are actually about the same sizes as the lower adult shoes.

My hands have gotten smaller since I lost the first weight. None of my rings fit right any more. I'm waiting until after I lose the rest of the weight before getting them sized.

The bones haven't changed, but the puffy around them has. icon_smile.gif

This morning at work an anonymous person put 2 glazed doughnuts on my desk and chocolate covered heart candies and a note that said congratulations on your weight lost you can now eat this.

I lost over 100 pounds. I told all my coworkers if I receive any sweets or junk foods. I will not eat it and will throw it away

I took the 2 glazed doughnuts and chocolate candy out of my desk and dumped it in the trash

That felt great.

It is important to eat breakfast in the morning. I had oatmeal with blueberry and soymilk. A cup of green tea and 1/2 banana. By eating a good breakfast in the morning I don't having cravings for sweets.

Especially after telling everyone that if you received anything like that, it would be thrown in the trash. Unreal!! You should be VERY proud of yourself. I sure am......WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!

Vegan, first I thought how rude. Then I thought okay people are stupid. Most people have no clue when it comes to losing weight. They think you go on these crazy diets, lose your weight then go back to eating 'real' food again. They don't realise it is a life time thing, not just a few months of eating carrot and celery sticks.

I had this guy I know tell me he needed to lose 20lbs and that him and his friend made a deal not to drink any more beer until they lost it. I asked him how long he thought it would take. His honest answer was... 1 week. I was like good luck with that.

Good for you for showing them that you meant what you said.

We have a guy that brings donuts in every Friday morning. We are talking atleast 3 dozen of them. Most days I don't think about them, but every once in a while they drawl me in when I pass them on the desk. When that happens I have half a donut and go about my day. I figure that half donut is alot better than a whole one or two.

I'm annoyed at my scale again. From Thursday to Sunday morning my weight was in the 146s, lowest being 146.2 Sunday. It has been up the last few days but I figured that was from eating salty stuff Sunday. Well this morning the darn thing says 147.4.

I didn't exercise like I should have, but my eating, apart from Sunday wasn't crazy. I avoided fast foods and tried to keep my calorie count down since I knew I was going to slurge Sunday.

I know it is a loss, and I am now lower than my lowest offical recorded weight. So I'm going to try to be happy about that. And maybe next week will be the week that shows a bigger loss.

Week 4 Weight - Feb 3 - 147.8
Week 5 Weight - Feb 10 - 147.4

.4 down since last week
6.2 down in 5 weeks.

20.4 to go, (to first goal anyway)

Tracy - scales drive me CRAZY icon_mad.gif I decided to weigh this morning just for the fun of it. (not my weigh in day) and it was great, a nice loss from just two days ago. Sooo, I decided to weigh again, just to make sure that it was correct. Well, this time it went up .2 lbs., so I weighed again, this time it was up .4 from the first time. Ok,,,,, this is stupid. Weighed again and it was back to the lowest weight the first time..... icon_eek.gif At that point, I quit...... I've never had that happen. Don't know if the battery is about to go or what. Back to weighing once a week and only one time on that day icon_rolleyes.gif

I think sometimes it depends on where you stand on the scale. I try to put my toes on the same line every time I weight.

I've also moved my scale around the bathroom floor and have had it tell me different numbers.

I know Mondays higher weight was probably from salt intake and I figured that carried over to Tuesday too. But today? I did have to frozen meals yesterday, maybe they were higher in salt than I thought? Or I haven't drank enough fluids to really flush my system?

Maybe I'll step on the scale again in the morning. If it is a better weight I might have to move my weigh in days to Thrusdays. icon_wink.gif

icon_lol.gif yeah, I've thought of doing that too..... I try my best to stand on the scale the exact same way each and every time. Also lay it on the floor the same place each time. Wish I could get down how I stand on it when it shows the lowest weight. I'd make darned sure I stand on it the same way each time. icon_lol.gif

Yep, I know what you mean. Oh the things we do. icon_wink.gif

My scale sits in the same place, all the time. Not because that is the lowest weight spot though, just cause that is the out of the way spot in the bathroom.

I stayed up way to late last night hanging out with a friend. I'm feeling rough this morning. If I thought I wouldn't be missed I'd go take a nap in the supply closet.

Good morning ladies! It is snowing! Which for some may not sound like alot, but I'm in East Texas where we don't get snow often. According to my brothers it started at 6 this morning and is still snowing. I guess I'm going to have to cancel class tonight.

KCC, congrats! You are on your way, aren't you?

Margie, you are so right. We are worth it and we are doing this! I actually like my body now. I'm not in love with it yet, but I like it, and that is something I can't say I have ever felt before.

I have 5 pairs of paints in size 10 that I need to wash so I can get my mom to heem them. They are a little snug, but not super tight. And the 12 jeans I have been wearing are getting bigger on me. I have three brand new pairs of 12 dress pants I have had for over a year that I haven't gotten heemed. I'm trying to decide if it is worth heeming them with the others or not.

I'm off to eat my oatmeal and get settled in for the day. icon_smile.gif

Thats great thumbs_up.gif I'm so ready for those smaller clothes too! Honestly joining this group has given me the motivation i so desperately needed. My son is also my motivation...every morning he wakes up and tells me he's so proud of me and he actually says "mommy you're getting skinny today" icon_lol.gif I love him icon_biggrin.gif

Tracy - I know you asked me not to send the snow your way but I just couldn't resist icon_lol.gif It is so pretty coming down isn't it? February is certainly a month that we will remember. We've had more snow here than I can ever remember. Possibility of it again on Saturday and then on Monday. Unfortunately with the lovely sites of snow, comes the trecherous roads. We had a 50 car pile up on the interstate yesterday morning. There were 7 injuries but thank goodness, nothing major. It's been a crazy February for sure.
KKC - your son sounds sooooooo sweet! How old is he? Without a doubt he is a great motivator.

Margie, we have had 'snow' two times before since winter set in General snow for us is the white stuff that falls but then melts on contact. This morning there was a light layer in the yard and on my car. It is raining now but is suppose to turn back into snow tonight.

I already had one student call me about class tonight. About to call the others and let them know they get the night off. I'm not sure the weather is going to get really bad here, but better safe than sorry.

I'm still ready for spring!!

Good news is since I don't have class tonight I get to play on Hank and work out with my weights. I haven't picked them up since last week. I need to get back in that habit. Oh and I have totally given up on getting up in the mornings and working out before work. It just isn't ever gonna happen. I do so much better doing it at night.

Yep, me too. I don't do mornings icon_rolleyes.gif My hubby gets up at 5:30 each morning, reads the paper, drinks his coffee and then exercises. I just can't do that. I do much better later afternoons or evenings. I tried out the Wii Active last night for the first time. I chose the lightest workout on the 30 day challenge. I think it's gonna be a good workout. I did do some running which I'm thinking I shouldn't have done though with my knee situation. It felt ok then but this morning, not so good. I was surprised of how winded I got after just a very short time of running. Geeez, I haven't run in years. Something I just need to build up to (if my knee allows me to) I really need to go to the Dr and have them take another xray and see what needs to be done. Anyway, I'm excited about the Wii Active. I think it's gonna be great fun and exercise. All througout the work out, your trainer is telling you what a great job you are doing so it kinda keeps ya going. Pretty cool.....

Margie, I've never been a morning person. Always an night owl. With the full time job it is harder to be a night owl, but I still function better at night than I do first thing in the morning.

The Wii game sounds fun, but be careful with that knee! icon_smile.gif Don't want you to hurt it more.

Since it is cold and nasty weather and I have been craving Mexican food, I'm going out to eat with my parents tonight. Mmmm! I've been wanting mexi food for weeks. Good thing my calories count for the day is on the lower side.

We are going early, so that gives my tummy time to settle so I can still work out tonight. Watch out Hank!

Margie, did you really have to send me snow? It snowed all night last night. We have like 5 or 6 inches out there. Which I know for some people that isn't much, but we haven't had this much in a long time.

I called work at 7:30 this morning and when no one answers I went back to bed. There isn't any point in a roofing company being opened when there is snow of the roofs. They don't like me over here by myself anyway so I was like nope I'm staying home.

Now that I've been lazy all morning I guess it is time to get productive and use my snow day for something. Maybe I'll clean or maybe I'll work on the afghan I've been trying to get finished up.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll try to check back in sometimes this weekend, but if not I'll see everyone on Monday mornings! Hugs girls! Try to stay warm!
