Okay, so I haven't been on here in a very long time. I'm only an occasional caker so I haven't been real busy lately. These are the latest 2 cakes that I've done.

This was for one of my favorite customers, she always gives me creative license! This time her order was for a lingerie shower cake, and "the bride is using peacock feathers in some of her decorations", here is what I came up with...no feathers, but some of the color.

Hi everybody! This is the first I've seen of this thread! I'm a newbie-just started decorating cakes in November. I just finished Wilton's 2nd course yesterday. Everything else I've learned is from this site (I admit I'm thouroughly addicted!). Even though I havn't yet developed a lot of decorating skills, I'd love to receive some critiques so that I can improve! I'm looking forward to being apart of this thread!

This cake is my favorite, BUT not one of my best cake. I had such a trouble with the gumpaste figures, after they dry all the men figures looked so old. We had good laugh when I presented this cake.

You can always use fondant. Some people use wrapping paper, scrapbook pages, even wallpaper- you have to cover it in plastic wrap to make it food safe.
