You are very sweet! Thanks. This is where I get to come and relax and watch new decorators grow and learn from the more experienced ones all in one place! icon_smile.gif

Hi all this is my latest. First time doing roses I need lots of practice at arranging them and I have to learn how to wire them - these just have the wires poked into a blob on fondant on top. I noticed that I got it little off center with the names but its not noticeable to everyone as I often put things a little off center for a bit of interest in the design icon_lol.gif (well it hides the fact things are uneven .... shhhhhh icon_wink.gif )

Yes of course you can. Thats what this group is for - constructive comments and help to improve your skills. Although most of us on here do cakes, we still have a critical eye for detail and design that can be helpful. For instance I quickly looked at your gallery and you do great swirls thumbs_up.gif

Chocolate wrap with Lace overlay. First one. Photo shows lightness in the chocolate, but I believe that was the lighting as it did not show up IRL.

Thanks for feedback! Image

Hello again. This is my latest. Its hard to see in the photo but the bed was raised. I glued a few pieces of board together and painted black for support under the bed and just put some rolled fondant to look like legs in the corner. You could see the support underneath but I could not make it shorter and was running out of time. She loved it anyway and the cake civillians don't notice things like that - they did not even know how I did it !!!

Here are a few I've done in the recent past that I'd like some feed back on.

This one is buttercream only except the fangs. The issue I had with this is that at the party (my sister's thankfully) his "hair" on the back part peeled off. Have any ideas as to how I could have prevented that?

This one, I LOVED doing but the picture in my head was SO much more vivid and alive. I was very disappointed with the muted colors. They were the Americolor Airbrush in the respective Electric colors. How could I have improved on that?

This cake kicked my butt! I cried, cursed, screamed, and walked away a few times. The customer loved it but I hate it. I never want to do another stadium as long as I make cakes!

Here are a couple of my latest.

I had fits with the bow on this one. It was only my second one and I think I need to find a better tutorial than what I learned in the old Wilton classes.

http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1879772.html

This was a request for a 16 year old's "oldies retro party." Boy did I feel old doing this one.

These are cupcakes that I would love feedback on. I have done one other cake that I supplemented the servings with cuppies, but this was my first order for just cupcakes. 6 dozen and I had free reign within the parameters of a Fall theme with 3 different styles. I think I made it cute and cohesive.

Thanks y'all!

Hi all. This is my latest. I know the fence round the edge is a bit saggy and bumpy but I put it all on before the fondant had set enough - thought it would be ok but a hot day and all made it distort when drying.. Live and learn. icon_redface.gif The foliage is what I had made for another cake that was to be a big tree but they cancelled the job so I had them on hand so glad I was able to use some of them up- just another 80 or so leaves to find a home for.. icon_cry.gif http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1883614

This cake was designed entirely by the client's daughter. She had very specific ideas on what she wanted. It came out pretty darn good. I realized after I viewed the picture that the top tier if off center. Go figure!

This is my latest. My first wedding cake !! Don't know if I will keep doing wedding cakes its too stressfull and time consuming icon_cry.gif What could go wrong did go wrong with broken toppers and had to remake them, torting the layers too short so had to put more cake layers on, tearing wonky fondant - hence all the ribbons and bows which hides the dent someone made and where I dropped the iron on it while steaming. http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1889297
