I think I may have you guys beat, I just finished reading the series for the sixth time and will prob start it again in a few days. Every time I read it I notice something new!

I liked the movie. I think they did a decent job cramming all that into a 90 minute movie. I think it could have been better but for a first shot I think it was good. I hope the next one is better. I thought Charlie and Edward were good picks but agree that Laurent and Bella weren't exactly what I expected.

Here's a laugh for you......on the morning the movie came out on DVD I drove 2 hours one way with 2 kids under 5 and my mother who has a bum leg and can barely walk to get to a Target to buy the bluray because Target was the only one selling it! icon_smile.gif How sad am I? I was going to order it on the website but then I would have had to wait for them to ship it! I love Twilight!

I think the movie was decent. Like several others have said, they really needed to develop the relationship between Bella and Edward better. Like the scene from biology class...that would have been great because Edward got jealous (of Mike, right?) and protective of Bella, and a big moment for them.

In the begining of the movie I didnt like who was cast as bella but she grew on me towards the end. And since I've seen it like 20 times lol I dont think anyone esle would have been better

you really cant compare harry potter with twilight, its 2 very differant kinds of books

I loved harry potter but I liked twilight better becuase of the love angle.

what can I say, Im a romance book junkie

btw on the album theres 2 songs by rob. my favorite is "Let Me Sign" its a bonus track

OMG, I have found my home, lol! I am 25, but I hadn't read a book that I wanted to read (I mean besides school books) since I was about 13 or so. I used to love reading.
Anyways my friend bought Twilight and lent it to me and I let it sit on my table forever before I picked it up. When I finally did, I read it in a day and a half and went out right after I finished and bought the box set from Costco. It took me about 5 days to read them all, and I've read the series 4 times.
When I first saw the movie (we went on opening night at the theater) I was so disappointed. I couldn't believe how much was changed or inaccurate, and I was angry about it, lol!
I've watched the movie about 6 times now, I bought it the day it came out. And I'm ok with it. I realize that obviously they couldn't fit a book that big into a movie.
I guess I was just mad about the things they cut (blood typing), but then added things that weren't in the book (like the field trip).
Midnight sun was awesome too, I hope she finishes it.
And the Host was awesome too, I loved it and have also read it several times.

IMO you can't compare Harry Potter to Twilight, they are completely different and both amazing series' in their own ways.
I loved HP, the entire series was great. I didn't really care for the last book though, it didn't really match up with the rest of the series for me. And Breaking Dawn was the same for me. i loved the beginning of BD, but after Bellas first book, I hated it.

Sorry I sometimes can't be stopped once I get going, lol!

My daughter is addicted to this series. I've read them...they are o.k. I just think that her writing is not great. Even my daughter has finally agreed with me on that. She does however love the plot. She read them like 20 times. She would go to the bathroom with it and sit for hours. Cleaning time we would ban her from the bathroom, because she would take the book with her.
I was a HP fan. I did like that series much better. Her writing skills are by far superior than Meyers.

Yay!!! A Twilight Thread!!!!

I read the first three books in a row. Couldnt put them down like everyone else! Then I got sick. A BAD flu... my husband said "what do you need?" and I said "for you to go to Barnes & Noble and buy the last two Twilight books for me" icon_lol.gif Good husband!

So he did! He laughs at me still since they were in the teen section. When the movie came out on DVD I bought it.

I said, "hey hon, want to watch the movie?" and he said, "why would I want to watch a movie made after a book I bought in the teenage girls section? Can you say chick-click???". But he watched it anyway after I told him there were some good vampire scenes and music. icon_smile.gif

Hi. My name is Tamera and I'm the newest addict and convert. I started Twilight on Saturday after months of resistance (my best friend's been begging and bugging me to read them) and finished in two days. I am now on New Moon and watched the moved last night. Wasn't too crazy about the movie upon first watch...seemed kind of "Lifetime-ish"...something about the acting was bugging me too. Or the special effects, I expected more. I've heard they will have a better budget for the second one. I know it's hard to fit details from a book into the movie but I didn't feel the "love" develop in the movie. All of a sudden they're in the meadow and he's saying the "so the lion falls in love with the lamb" line. Huh? You just met. lol But, it's the movie, I expected that much.

So far New Moon has me depressed. lol

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, (I skimmed through this thread in case there were spoilers) but my friend's says there is a teaser of her book that is from Edward's point of view on her website (Stephanie Meyer's). the first 200 pages of it. It's basically Twilight from Edward's perspective.

Glad there's a thread to talk about this guilty pleasure.

When all the Twilight obsession came about, I started reading the 1st book before thinking going to watch to movie. So I read like half way and then life got really busy and I haven't finished it yet. But the book is awesome!

I watched the movie last week....BUT... I have to say I truly truly don't like the movie. IT's so... middle/high schoolish for me. Sorry... love the book, not the movie.

Wow...who knew my favorite cake website would have a thread about my other obsession, Twilight??? I'm 42 years old and read all four books twice, back to back, and am now half way through the first book for the third time. I just can't stop. I am dying for Stephenie Meyer to finish Midnight Sun.

As for the movie, I saw it after reading the books and was disappointed by some of the acting and the way they had to cut out so many good parts of the book to fit it into a 90 minute movie. (Of course, did that stop me from pre-ordering it from Amazon and watching it twice the weekend I got it? No. I could watch Rob Pattinson read the phone book.)

It's so nice to find a group I already love who loves my favorite books!

I agree with you there, her writing style is not the greatest. But she's completely saved by the story itself.

Just a little FYI: the fella who played Edward also played Cedric Diggory in HP's Goblet of Fire. I THOUGHT he looked familiar! My 11 yr old daughter is the one who figured that one out. In the movie the actress who plays Bella distracted me... all the eye blinking. My sister said she wanted to yell, "Please close your mouth!" to the actress the whole time she watched it. I guess she was trying to convey surprise. If anyone has watched Zathura she plays Lisa the sister. (again, my daughter caught that one... it's funny because she has such trouble remembering school facts and here she can pull this FYI stuff out of the air!)

I just watched Twilight again at a friend's house. A PP said they've seen it like 6 or so times and see something different every time. I noticed at least 2 new things tonight and this is the 4th time I've watched it!!

Has anyone seen all of the deleted scenes? Most were very good scenes that would have really added to Bella and Edward's relationship, and just showed it growing more.

Plus, a very good scene and great line straight from the book was cut 'Your number was up the first time I met you." In response to Bella saying that maybe her number was up when he saved her from the van.

Sigh! I really, really, really hope they do a better job with book 2. And now I'm so ready to go read book 1 for the 3rd time.

The baseball scene is by far my favorite, after watching the movie for the 4th time. I love the music and the whole slow-motion thing. It just rocks!!!

And ooooh, the kiss scene...if you own the movie, make sure you watch the deleted scenes. You know where Bella wakes up and Edward's standing in the corner, then she turns on the light and he's not there? In a cut scene she wakes up and he is in the corner and they share a very passionate kiss, then she wakes up again and he's not really there. It was way hot!!!!

I am now abut a third of the way through Eclipse. You can just feel everything building. I'm anxious at how things are going to pan out.

I was at Walmart yesterday and was embarrassed to find myself reading some gossip magazine about what was supposedly going on on the set of New Moon. They were talking about Rob being "kicked to the curb" for the actor that plays Jacob (forgive me I don't know all of the actors/actresses names..). Meaning the actress who plays Bella hangs around the set more with Jacob. Just silliness....but I was reading it up. icon_lol.gif

I saw some of the guys who will be playing Jacob's friends...I have high hopes for this next movie.
