Cracked Cake

What do I do if a cake cracked when I was putting it onto a cake board? should I put it as the top or bottom layer? No time to re-bake.

Can't see how it would make much difference if it was on the top vs the bottom.

I'd use it on the bottom. The base board should help make it more stable.

I would also put it on the bottom.

It will be held in place by the smear of buttercream you put on the board first.

This makes it easier to cement the crack up and then apply your normal filling/buttercream layer.
