Decorating By wgoat5 Updated 11 Oct 2008 , 12:02am by JanetBme
Can you refresh my memory on the exact date/time/place of our get together? I'm assuming nothing has changed? Just want to make sure before I say definite yes...
Thanks!
This is the first I have seen this. Would someone please PM me or post info on times and cost to attend!?!
I am several hours away but could make the trip down. Thanks!
Please count me in. I'm in Berea and might be able to carpool with someone.
Let me know what info and money you need. I'll be more than happy to.
Can't believe I didn't see this thread earlier. Glad I did.
Wow...just saw this thread tonight and YES...i am coming. My DH should be working that weekend so I won't take away any of his preciouse "me" time.
IndyDeb...I will hitch a ride with you or you with me or whatever. I know my way around Louisville pretty good since I lived there for 10 yrs.
I vote we eat at Lynn's Paradise Cafe for Lunch. It is a great place and has been featured in many magazines, been part of "Bobby Flay throwdown". It is very Eclectic to say the least! Not that I don't love Deb's food...but it's time someone waited on HER for once.
I don't have any thing to offer in the way of specialties or demo. I might be able to do some cake balls though.
Teri....CakeRN
OMG, I haven't been getting updates and just refound this thread. Glad I'm still listed on the attendees. Do we have a cost yet? Or a place to stay if necessary? I'm still planning on coming (bohnlo) Lori and (Sapie) Nancy. and we are very excited to meet everyone and learn from each other. Thanks to all who are arranging things on the Louisville end. Still thinking what I can contribute by way of demo.
Looking forward to seeing you all!!!
I still want to come too. I havent been getting any of the updates or new posting messages either..
Do not panic, everyone! I need to know the exact amount of people attending, as I am booking a room. Hopefully, it will not have a cost as I am hoping to find out by the end of the week if a FREE room is available at a facility (I will let all of you know a.s.a.p.)
The day is the first week-end in September... Saturday, September 6, 2008.
Please, please, please let me know for sure if you are coming, as I must make sure the room will hold us all (plus all of our "bring-alongs"!
Also, please send me what and if you will be demonstrating... I must make sure everything will be available.
If there is a cost to any of you who are printing instructions, etc., you must let me know so that I can make sure we all pay the amount to cover such expenses.
You may pm me or reply to this ....
Thanks in advance for everyone participating, whether through attendance or through demonstrations or both!
Possibly, I can get this place to provide a lunch for us... it would save us all time and enable us to get in more demonstrations.
Okay... you have until August 16 at midnight to give a definite and positive "yes!"
I will post the final list on the 19th of August (gives me a chance to get it all together and have it completed on that Tuesday).

Not to try to hijack this post but since so many of you are in the TriState area I wanted to let you know about this....
Just a heads up for those close to Indianapolis, IN. In October there is going to be an Indiana ICES Weekend of Sharing. Check out our website
Indiana-ices.org for information. We are going to have Nicholas Lodge, Norm Davis, Zane Beg and many more for 2 days worth of classes. Registration for the public opens the 25th of July and you can download the application from the website. This will be our first weekend of sharing and we hope not our last. Nicholas Lodges classes are all day and very inexpensive compared to his classes at his place. Anyway check out the website fpr more information. Hope to see some of you there. I know classes are limited but not sure how many per class.

I will be there as well.
And as for the suggestions for Lynns for lunch, I have been there a few times and was not impressed with the food at all!
Well there are other good restaurants like Irish Rover ( won't hold that many people), The Brown Hotel has a good buffet but pricey, Marks Feed Store which is awesome and would probably hold us and has lots of locations.
Louisville just has so many neat NON franchised restaurants that it would be a shame to miss going to them. But this shindig will probably be catered anyway. My old neighbor from Louisville is a chef at Lillies on Bardstown Rd. Good eats but small.
Sorry ...double post...but also what I wanted to say is that Lynn's Paradise Cafe ( if we go out) would be eclectic enough for our cake group.
Dang it! I just found out about this from JanH. I wish I would have known sooner! I would love to learn from y'all! It seems that there is so much to share and learn. I just don't know if I can plan it out when my family will be in Indy the weekend prior. Then to drive down and all.................. Just in case, if someone could pm me with the cost and such, that'd be great! Thanks!

I hate to say it, but I can't go! I have two wedding cakes that day. I could have had my daughter deliver one, but not two .... and one of them is a little more complicated set up than she's used to.
The nerve of some people...to plan their wedding day on the day Indydebi was supposed to be here with us!
I just saw this thread for the first time. Most of the summer CC would freeze up on me when I was trying to get to the forums.
Please count me in!

Well..... I hate to hear it! Darn it all.. who would plan their wedding that day, indeed! I was so looking forward to meeting you; but that will have to wait for another opportunity....
I just found this again & we will be there!! We live in Columbia, Kentucky, which is about a 2 hour drive from Louisville. My husband & daughter are involved in the business & will be attending with me with the possibility of 1 more. Can't wait to see everyone. Is it still okay to bring samples of one of our specialties? I have a delicious cheesecake candy/dessert that is our most popular item!! Let me know. I would love to be able to share this with everyone!!!

I forgot to ask on my last post if we are still going to do the fondant santa? I think it would be so cool & fun. It would be neat to have something from another CC decorator that you would be able to take home.
I will post the final list on the 19th of August (gives me a chance to get it all together and have it completed on that Tuesday).
lutie
Hey lutie......... It's the 19th
What's the scoop?? Can you tell I'm anxious?
Booking a room has become a problem... it appears we cannot get into a place with kitchen capabilities until October... I have tried (and patiently waited) for confirmations, etc. October 25 seems to be the date.
When it was all said and done, many of you had conflicts for the 6th of September... so, we will have to postpone the meeting until October 25th. It is a good thing that I did not put down the deposit one place required because they were requiring a minimum of 35.
So, the meeting will be on October 25th. Those of you who have pm'd me with other obligations which came up will now have another opportunity to make the meeting a huge success.
Let us all make sure that date is open so that we will not get any more weddings, parties, etc. to conflict.
Sorry, but I tried to get this all together for everyone, but then you all had other things that conflicted. Please do not be upset... I am trying to get this so more can attend.
lutie
I am sorry to hear that lutie... October 25 is not good for me.
I am very disappointed, as I am sure many others are. We had quite a list of folks who were available on Sept 6, and some even turned down cake orders in order to be able to attend.
I am glad you changed the date. I was going to have to cancel as I got an order for the 6th. Hopefully many more will be able to make it!
