Squirrelly, you and DH are in my thoughts and prayers. If you ever need to talk, you know that I'm always here for you!!
Hugs and Love, ~Denise
Any updates on SQC DH? I know she is very busy and sick with worry. If anyone hears from her please post it.
Hi, Squirrelly thanks you for all your prayers, and hopes you will keep them going.
She hasn't slept yet, and is tired, but her daughters and friends have been with her, so she is not alone. DH has been put in a room, rather than in Emergency, so it is quieter for everyone! DH is talking some, but his left side is affected and he isn't seeing much with his left eye.
That's all she had time/energy for this morning. They definitely still need those prayers! Janice
Update on Squirrellycakes DH. DH finally got the MRI, but probably won't get results for a few days. He is having bad headaches and some nausea, but is able to get out of bed and get around some and can use his left hand. Squirrelly says his speech is good and his memory is good but with some blank spots, and the vision problem is still there. He has felt well enough to have visitors, and that seems to have raised his morale a lot!
She sounded a little less stressed in this email, but doesn't manage to sleep but a couple of hours at a time. I sent her all your messages tonight, so she will know how much you have been praying and supporting her and DH. Janice
Janice thanks for keeping us updated. I can't imagine what is taking the hospital so long with test and results!!! While I have never had to deal with a family member having a stroke, my DF has brain aneurysms. We have MRI'S done and immediate results. I am glad things are as good as they are right now and will continue to pray for better things to come.
(On a side note--Glad to SEE you) ![]()
Thanks, Newtodecorating! Hope the photo didn't scare you too badly.
I'm not sure about the test delays, etc., but we have to remember they are in Canada and have government health care, and judging how the government messes up so many things, that may be the problem.
I copied and sent all your messages to Squirrelly, and she said to give you all a big "thank you", it meant a lot to her to know you all cared and were with her and her family. She also said instead of sleeping, she read all the messages (at 3 this morning) and they were better than sleep for revitalizing her!
She hopes you all will continue your support, they aren't out of the woods yet. Janice
Email from Squirrelly very late last night/early this morning proves that she is exhausted and worried.
She didn't really have any more information, and that is really stressing her, that they don't have more answers as yet.
If I hear more, I will post asap. Janice
I lifted him up in prayer this morning...blessings..
I heard from Squirrelly earlier than usual tonight, about 11 pm their time. Here is what she said:
"Today his blood pressure is way too low, go figure. Apparently that is just as bad as too high with a stroke patient. So hopefully tomorrow we will know why. No test results today unfortunately but he was assessed for physical therapy.
He was tired and so we left around 7:30, 8 Pm.
Hopefully I will get to sleep tonight at a reasonable hour."
Evidently DH's BP had been high yesterday, a cause for concern, and now low today, sure hope they get some test results and some answers soon!
Janice
Just got an email from SQC, nothing new to report test-wise.
Here is part of the email:
"He is hooked up to a portable electrocardiogram for 24 hours. They are also scheduling a test where they put a camera down the esophagus to see how things are functioning with the valves and heart etc. Not pleasant. Some other tests are not scheduled yet.
Physio will not be working with him as he is so advanced for a stroke patient, they just want him doing some excercises.
Blood pressure is still all over the place.
The neurologists are all amazed with the progress he has made and the little amount of deficiency he suffers from a serious stroke. Almost miraculous."
So, some good, some not so good. Janice
