This was an experiment with the fondant drape. But I still it came out ok.

THANKS! ![]()
The 21st birthday cake is one of my favorite cakes that I've made so far. That one, the penguin cake, and a st. patty's day cake that I made a while ago all tie for 1st place I think. ![]()

Great job everyone on your cakes -- I left comments for you. ![]()
Here's mine I was hoping for some more feedback on, I thought it turned out pretty good...

I was soo excited by how this cake turned out (lumpy fondant notwithstanding), especially the gumpaste babies, so I had hoped for more views. Although there were like 60 people at the party so it already got a lot of views and comments
. I should have asked them all to put it in writing LOL ![]()

Here are some cakes from the uncommented gallery. It's amazing what you can find in there!

OK I HAVE to add this one - it's not mine but I just noticed it in the Food gallery today. Sooo cute, she made cake balls into little fried chicken drumettes. Clever! Only 56 views; this adorable idea deserves more IMHO.

Here are the ones in my gallery that I feel didn't get enough notice:
http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1228310
http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1200098
and this isn't a cake, but some figures made from candy clay:

Sorry to have listed three but they each got less than nine comments even though they were viewed 175 times or more and I really thought they came out well. I remember how excited I was to post them and how disappointed I was after a few months had passed.
Here is mine:http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1254804.html
I love going to Renaissance faires, and all the fancy dresses. I can't afford to make a ton of costumes though, so I thought I'd try to make them out of cake. Any advice on how to cover the cake? I had a hard time. Or how to do the long, heavy sleeves any better? Or any suggestions for the head dress? The fondant ring kept streaching as I tried to apply it to her head. Any and all advice would be appericated. Thanks
OK I am going to hop on board.... this is a cake I made for my Aunt's daughter's birthday.....
I have been up at the cottage all summer with all my cake stuff...toys at home... I had my husband bring a few thing up for me to work with....
So this is a cottage... no tool (really) cake and I LOVED the way it turned out.
To All Undernoticed I salute you!!!!

I can't offer any advice for covering the cake, but as for the sleeves and headdress, you might want to try gumpaste, or 50/50 fondant/gumpaste, if straight fondant is giving you grief...HTH!
there is one cake that i worked hard on for this b day party a few people looked at it and commented it but i dont feel that it was fully appriciated. Tell me what you think

Ok...just feel free to take a look at all of mine and please feel free to give criticism on any and all...I always appreciate any help I can get and hey...(I already know my frosting isn't smooth...you would think I would have that down pat by now....)
Thanks for restarting this thread. I was disappointed that my last cake didn't seem to take the normal path of newly posted and then to the home page of those newly posted. I originally posted it during the server work, but took it down because I could hardly view it myself. I reposted when I thought everything was back to normal, but it still seemed to get lost in a slow flood. Anyway, here's a link. http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1199701 It's kind of different, but I liked it. Thanks for this opportunity.
P.S. I tried and tried to add a second attachment (top view), but it just won't pull it up. I hope it doesn't show up five times!
Too Cute!!! Look like one of my dogs! Always has his butt in the air.
Ok so I am not trying to say my stuff is great or anyting, becuase I KNOW there are WAAAAY talented people on here. But do you ever look at the home page and under the most popular added today, do you ever stop and think to yourself why is that one popular?
Many times I have seen waaaaaaaay better cakes that only have like 1 or two favorites.
Does this cross anyones mind also?
I have wondered too. I haven't taken many pics, or done anything very elborate, but I do ask my computer lots of those "Why that one?" questions. (Mainly because no one else listens!!)
I find it frustrating also, I just posted a few new photos of cakes I delivered yesterday and they stayed in new photos for all of 5 min no joke. I know my cakes arent the best as Im still learning but I would still like people to see them and tell me what I can do to improve. Paddlegirl I completely agree I think all the cakes on here are fab some more so than others obviously but the creativity I see amazes me. I spend a lot of time looking at the photos and commenting on the ones that shout at me too, but I dont understand how come some have loads of faves when Others that are amazing go pretty much unnoticed. Is there a way to look at the recent photos added rather than just the new photo thread on the front page. I would love for people to comment but If they don't see them on the front page I dont know what to do.
Han X
Mine is my snare drum in my gallery... I worked so hard on this cake and was really shocked at how many times it hadn't been viewed....
