Happy Wednesday to all...
Today's my weigh-in and I'm pleased to report I've lost 3 pounds. And frankly pleasantly surprised after my little breakdown week before last. And actually, I guess it's really 2.5 pounds because I was up .5 last week and didn't change my ticker. Anyway, 3 pound in 2 weeks and I'm OK with it.
Welcome to your No Cheat Wednesday, whatever that means for you. I wish you much luck and success in getting through the day eating and exercising in a healthy way.
Let's start thinking about the weekend, what are your plans? In most places it's getting warmer and being outside is always fun and generally involves some kind of moving, even if not official exercise. What is your food plan? Can you pack and carry to the park, zoo, game, or wherever you'll be? Start planning and you'll feel in control!
Good morning, all!
I am feeling pretty good about myself. That doesn't necessarily mean that I will have lost anything, just that I feel better about myself.
Susan, three pounds is great! Even if you did fudge a half pound of that. I would be happy.
As for this weekend, I am beginning to pack things to start putting them into a storage room. In preparation for moving. There is no warm up here and it is going to rain on and off for I think they mentioned the next 14 days.
At least my garden is doing something now. My clematis is blooming and the carnations are preparing to open also as are the peonies. I will miss my garden that I've been nurturing for the past three years. I will probably be doing some gardening this weekend if the rain stops for long enough. No vegetable this year.
Of course, this means that I will be home. That will make it easier for me to continue my new eating plan of eating every three hours. This is easier than I thought, but I do need to find some way of adding more fruits and vegetables in.
Well, I should probably go for now
Have a great day, all!
3 pounds susan! congrats! That's great!
Well i feel like since the cost of gas is so much we should probably cut our expenses somewhere else. So that probably means less eating out and less trips to the ice cream store! So maybe this will help me in the long run!!
I have been having a bad track record the last few weeks on Wednesdays for lunch. i have been grocery shopping while my son is at preschool. We get back I have a ton of groceries to unload and put away right at lunch. Plus the other kids want to eat right away. So I have been making bad choices because I want something fast and I am starving. Maybe I should make myself a salad right NOW for lunch later. Good idea me.
So what's going on with your moving Karen? I know you said you wanted to move somewhere warmer. Is it all official that you are moving?
Oh, Merissa, we are leaving here definately. I am not sure exactly when. Early next year at the latest, possibly earlier than that. I just don't know how I am going to break it to my mother that I am going.
I really just think that we do not belong here and there are health issues not to mention the bad air quality and the lack of a smoking ordinance while we are both allergic. I can't believe that you cannot get away from the smoke around here, even just walking down the street.
Congrats on the 3lbs Susan!!
Oh moving I HATE moving but I am such a pack rat that it is a PIA!
I've been doing ok on my eating except for eating dessert every night since Saturday. Dh made me a pie for Mother's Day but since he had to work on Sunday he gave it to me on Saturday so had some that night. He also made some for my mom so I took it to her on SUnday and well had a piece of hers and every night after we tuck the kiddos into bed we (dh & I) have been having a slice I know it's bad but THANK GAWD we had the last of it last night!
Saturday I started a scrapbook of my bridal showers/wedding and I finished it today I'm so stoked! I had to take a break from my son's scrapbook b/c I need to print more pictures and well don't have the money for that right now (need to print like 140 pics) SOOO I took a break from his book and instead of losing my momentum I decided to start that book SO glad I'm done, now of course you could tell I was just trying to get it done but alas it's done!!!
I hope everyone is doing better than myself this week and hopefully I'll do better now that the pie is gone (of course the ice cream that went w/ the pie is still going strong ~sigh)
How is everyone's weigh in day? I feel fortunate that I weighed in yesterday because I'm up 2.5 pounds this morning...and not very happy about it. I can't imagine how it happened, I was actually under 1300 calories yesterday and didn't have any added salt. Sigh...I'm discouraged, it's not my intent to sound so dramatic, but geez...this is hard work sometimes. I am on my period, so I guess that could account for it...but I don't like it! I was so close to being at 30 pounds lost and now I'm back to 27. I know it'll happen...
I hope everyone is having a good day and getting ready for the weekend. I'm going to be packing for my trip on Wednesday and trying to decide what kind of non-perishable foods to bring for the plane; from the time I leave until I land, it'll be 17 hours, ugh. I NEVER feel fresh when I land!
I hope everyone's having a great day.
Good Morning all!
I was down a half pound this morning. I sure hope that I can continue with that trend. I am still eating every three hours. It is not as hard as I was thinking it would be, and I have had breakfast every day this week. So I am doing well.
Connie, I certainly understand having desserts around and feeling that you have to eat them until they are gone. I have been there and that is why I bake cakes and leave them at my mother's house for the kids to finish.
Susan, it probably is because of "that time of the month" that you fluctuated up those two pounds. Happens to me all the time.
Well, I'd probably better go for now. Have a great day, everybody!
Karen
Susan dont get discouraged, this is why I dont weigh my self everyday. I would just go off the deep end with the fluctuation every day. It most likely is TOM.
Karen I dont mind moving it gives me the opportunity to get rid of some things that I wouldnt normally thro away.
Since I am in Harrisburg I cant weigh in, it will have to wait till next week.
I didnt workout yesterday and have not yet today but will tonight.
When I got in I started my homework right away and was at it until 11 last night when I finally said NO MORE!!!!! This is going to be so much work............whew!
OK lets go guys we can do this.
Well, everyone is doing so well!! I'm not! I'm up a couple of pounds. I'm so discouraged I went out and bought some meal replacement drinks. Hopefully that will help.
Michelle, when did you start school? Did I miss that post?? You'll do fine, keep up the good work!
Sonia, I feel your pain! But it sounds like you're taking care of the problem. One thing I'm learning is to IMMEDIATELY get back on the horse, otherwise it gets out of control and then I feel defeated, overwhelmed, irritable, guilty...all those yucky feelings.
Michelle, you'll be so happy when you're finished with school, it'll be worth it. It was hard work to get my master's, but without it, I wouldn't have the job I do, and I've never regretted spendng the extra 2 years in school. Think forward!
Karen, it sounds like your little meals are working for you. I'll be curious to hear more because I think that's a great idea, never get hungry.
Connie, don't you just love crafting? I don't scrapbook, but I really enjoy making things or putting them together, it's good satisfaction. You must feel very accomplished with all that you've finished recently!
Katie, don't fall asleep during jury duty! I hope you don't have a trial where you have to sit all, that's tough. Even though I have a desk job (or a couch job, LOL), at least I can get up every hour or so and walk around. Sounds like you're on the right track too.
Ready for our weekend? What are your plans? In addition to packing, I'll be cleaning out my closet to take things to the thrift store. Unfortunately, there's really nothing that's too big yet, but I have a lot of stuff either I don't like or don't wear.
Morning, all!
Susan, yes, the little meals seem to be working well. The hardest part is trying to find little things to eat during the day. You get so caught up in this big meal business. So far my calories have been on track (exccept for being under yesterday) but I need to tweak the plan a bit because according to the Spark People charts, my carbs, fats, and protiens are off slightly. It is a way I can make myself aware of eating before I leave the house. We will see how this weekend goes.
Sonia, I hope the meal replacement drinks help you. Be sure you follow the directions and eat the meals that are recommended, also. I tried the meal replacements myself and found that they satisfied me. Unfortunately, they got to be too expensive for someone who lives paycheck to paycheck.
Michelle, I don't mind moving, either. It does give you a chance to get everything cleared out. I am not really such a pack rat but I do look forward to getting rid of some the clothing thast doesn't fit anymore and some other things that are sitting around unused. I also have to clean out the kitchen of pots and pans that I don't use anymore. Change is good! I know that you will be glad you have gone back to school in the long run. Anything worth doing is worth working for, also a good theme for our goals for healthy living.
Well, I should probably get going for now. Eveybody have a great day and a nice weekend. Not sure when I will get the chance to check back in. I might have a chance later today.
oh man! Sorry I forgot I was cheerleader this week! Guess I better get on here and be supportive! LOL!
I weighed in yesterday at 152.5. Boo. I hadnt weighed myself in awhile. I can do better. Maybe this week being cheerleader it will inspire me!
I'll get back to everyone with some challenges and stuff after I have a little time to think it over!
Good morning everyone.
Thanks for the good wishes about school. I know I will be happy once done, but geeezzz I will be a mess for the next 2 years or so. Perhaps the stress will help me loose weight. Just kidding I know that is not the way to do it.
Sonia, I just started this week. It is all on line, which with my travel schedule is the only way I could do this. But it sure is stressfull to have my first week be the same week as the busiest travel show we have. I have been keep up with everything so far so hopefully when I am home and things are normal I will be less overwhelmed!!!
I tried those replacement drinks also, I did them exactly as directed.....I gained 10 pounds in 1 week!!! I stopped right away.
OK gotta run and finish getting ready for the show. I will try to check in tomorrow.
Michelle
Morning all!
okay my challenge for the weekend is to do something nice for yourself!
here is what I did: I went out to dinner and a movie with a friend. No kids! yea! Helped improve my mood for the weekend.
How was everyone's weekend? Did you all do something nice for yourselves?!?!
I had a fun weekend. Like I said I went out with a friend for dinner AND movie. I also went out to dinner on Saturday becasue the in-laws were up. The kids were actually really good. And they went to bed without coming out a billion times that nice. Good day!
I wasnt really in the mood to exercise this morning. My gym buddy and I were really crabby about it when we left this morning but of course now I feel glad I did it. We decided that jogging on the treadmill for 30 or 40 minutes this morning was more monotony that we could handle! LOL! We are getting bored. So we decided to do some intervals. 10 minutes run, 10 minutes bike, 15 minutes abs and legs and stuff. It actually went by pretty fast.
So challenge before the end of the week is to break up the boredom! Try something new. Exercise or foods or whatever! Shake up the routine a little!!
Have a good day everyone!
Good morning!
I had a nice weekend, even though it was rainy and kinda chilly here. This morning back to winter coats, it is that cold. High is going to be in the 50's.
I did do something nice for myself this weekend. I got out in the garden between raindrops. Also did some shopping over the weekend and got a new pair of pants. Although I did wash a small load with a lipstick and ruined about three pair, which I need to replace. Probably will get another pair next week. Anybody have any idea how I can get lipstick out of clothes that have gone through the dryer? I tried oxy clean spray yesterday.
I also baked some homemade granola bars. They are good. I got the receipe off Sparkpeople and just tweaked it a bit.
Well, I should probably go now and get ready to start work. Have a great day, everybody!
morning ladies, dh and I went to the mall on saturday w/ our 2 kids in tow ~ does that count for exercise LMAO....
Something nice for myself hmmm I bought a couple of stickers (like 3 sheets) and had 143 pictures printed off so that I can work on my sons scrapbook.
I have 2 different days at the park planned this week so that will break up the routine. Hopefully it won't be so hot we melt yet.
Well, the thing I did for myself, was I dropped the kids off at Sunday School yesterday morning, then went down to the cafe for a cuppa and read the paper. It was the only time I got to relax the whole weekend, because I had my niece staying, and she is full on!!! She talks so much it gives you a headache. In fact on Saturday afternoon I put on earphones so I could listen to something apart from her voice!
My eating has been a bit up and down. Doing well with exercise, though.
I'm having a late one tonight. It's 12.30, and I'm almost finished my first cake, one more to go before I get to bed!!!!
Hi All~
A short note, I have a headache and I guess the nice thing I"m doing for myself is going to bed at 9:00!
I had a good weekend, it was cool, dark, and rainy every minute of every hour from Friday night til this morning. I loved it though, I stayed in, did laundry and cleaned out closets and started packing for my trip Wednesday morning.
Tomorrow's my No Cheat day, I'll check in again. Have a great one!
Hi Everyone~
I decided to count my weight loss for today because I don't know if I'll have time to check in tomorrow. I lost 1.5 pounds, which I'm happy about because it's puts me over the 30 pounds lost mark, something I've been waiting for.
I'm leaving at 6:30AM for the airport and I'm not sure when the next time I'll check in will be. My parents' anniversary party is Saturday and on Friday my sisters and I are going to the lake house to meet the decorator and prepare everything, then spending the night there. I hope everyone has a great week, I'll talk with you soon!
woooohoooo! 31 pounds! That is really starting to add up! Congrats!
Glad everyone was doing something nice for themselves!
Sonia, you make me laugh about your niece talking so much. My middle son is like that. He talks from the minute he gets up to the time he goes to bed. He even talks in his sleep! I think I have kind of gotten used to it, but i get comments from people about how much he talks. he asks so many questions that there isnt a good answer for, or that I know he wont understand. I hate to answer the question because I know it will lead to more questions!!!
DH is out of town until late Thursday. I took on 3 cakes for this weekend. Plus I have to take the kids to all kinds of practices and such. I am tired already. I was just asked to do a couple of cakes for Tuesday, but i think I might have to turn it down. I dont know if I really want to spend the little time left of Memorial day weekend making more cake. i feel bad though.
Great going, Susan!!!! You must be so proud! Have a great time away.
Don't feel bad, Merissa. You need to put your family before cakes. I hope you get a bit of time to yourself ![]()
Good morning everyone. Back home now for about a month!!! YEA
Susan you should be so proud and tooting that horn loud and clear!!! Have a great time on your trip.
Merissa I have neices and nephews that talk all the time. I love it, just sit and have conversations!!! It can get tiring, by the time we leave I am exhausted.
I did very badly on this last trip. Worked out once and did not really watch what I ate. Not the trip to do those things, we do not go to places that I can watch what I eat and it is up early and out late and on top of that my extra time went to school!!!
Well better get to work and catch up.
Michelle
Hey, Susan, I bet your family will notice a difference in your size!!!!
Hey ladies I'm wondering if I can join the group to get and give a little support.
I went to the doctor's yesterday for my anual exam and my doctor got very angry with me about my weight. Boy she told me! So I'm goin on a diet starting this morning. I've got about 90lbs to loose! I've gained and lost this weight so many times. I had just rached my goal Just before I got pregnant with my now 2 year old and I don't know I must have went crazy during pregnancy cause I gained alot and have not lost any yet!!
Wish me luck!
Welcome giggy...if you don't mind telling us your real name, we'd appreciate it! Were a little family here ![]()
IF you havent figured our the dynamics of the group yet, there are no hard and fast rules. But we do weigh ins and goal writing on Thursdays. Wednesday we do a "no cheat day" in prep for thurs. We also have a weekly cheerleader to try and give extra support, motivation and think up fun challenges for everyone. This week is my week. I am sort of less than motivating/ed right now. I am sort of in a slump. I need to figure out a way to be more consistent. I am up and down motivation wise very frequently! But it always helps to have the group to go back to!
okay so guess what I did yesterday?! I bought a double wall oven for my future business! I bought it off ebay for $499 brand new! It is an older model but never used. I think new models are around $2500-3000. I talked to the guy this morning and he said their costs for the oven were around $1300. I am realizing if i search out the deals my costs to start a business are significantly less than I thought they might be. I was anticipating having to spend $5-7K on appliances alone. Plus I already have a cook top that my parents gave me from their house when they switched to gas.
Anyway back to weight loss. So how is everyone doing today? Challenge for today...Imagine yourself at the finish line. The finish line of a long term goal, a short term goal or a 5K! How do you feel now that youve accomplished your goal?
Let's knock out those fats cells!
Thanks for the welcome! Congratulations of your find. It does get costly opening a business. I became legal in January and let me tell you it was expensive! The monthy costs are expensive as well.
I've attached my name (Lori) to my signature. I have something that may help you to stick to your plan it is a microsoft word document that I created that has a daily diary, checlist, and menu. I created it from a local weight loss place I once belonged to. I've tried to attach it but it will not allow. If you want me to email it to you let me know. Or if you have any tips on how I can attach it that would be great.
I like it you can print out one for each day and keep it as a diary/log or I have lamenated one and attached it to my fridge and mark it with a dry erase marker.
What I can imagine for my finish line: I think when I get to my goal I'm going to go back to my martial arts class. I was in it for 7 years but stopped when I started having kids.
Sure, I would love to have it! I will pm you with my email. Are you out of your house or do you have a store front? I will be doing mine in a separate kitchen in the basement. I am hoping that will keep my costs down. Plus I am not ready for a full time thing. I have 3 kids and I am a stay at home mom. But I really want to do this.
I've done the exact same thing I'll send you the food diary and some construction photos. If you want any more info such as estimated monthly costs etc. let me know
Welcome Lori you will find that we are a close knit family and will cheer you on and kick butt which ever you need at the time.
Merissa yea on your find!!! Good luck with your business.
My finish line will be my short term goal of getting under 200. I want a new pair ofjeans, I can see me trying on a pair in the normal size not the extra material size!!
Welcome to no cheat Wednesdays everyone!
