The curves workout will help me reclaim a little of me time with all three kids home and all the medical hoo-ha.
Plus I can feel the weight on me and it's making me uncomfortable to sleep and just breathe even, so I am hoping this will help ease that all up.
BUT I am glad to have everyone home now and with me so I can care for them the way I want to and take care of me the way I need to.
2sdae...as you know since you created this thread, you're at the right place! I'm glad your daughter is able to come home, that alone will let you feel more in control of things. And what a great husband you have! Take him up on his offer to join Curves...you'll feel better, be a better you, and be able to give more to all those people tugging at your apron strings!! And remember how far you've come with your weight loss, you can get right back down to where you feel comfortable, it's totally do-able. We support you all the way!
I cant believe I forgot to add early:
Susan you have lost some good ol cruddy fat cells I see!!!!! ![]()

So glad all are here to just be and see what we all have and need.
Love to all my CC family!

Wow 2sdae, you have so much going on. I am so glad your DD is home now, and it will give you more control over all aspects of your life now. Remember we are here for you!! I had no idea that you were having such serious problems with your DD health, my prayers are with you! Curves is actually very good, my sister was working out there for a while and had lost weight, she really liked it. I have thought about joining myself, maybe someday.
Susan, I had tried all morning to get on and post for no cheat wednesday, but it was so slow and timed out, I just got on now. I had a DR apt this morning for my 3 month blood draw and I have to fast so I didn't get to eat until 9 this morning, then had my frozen waffels with fat free yogurt and fresh raspberries. MMMM they were good! Got that idea from Weight Watchers. I should be able to keep up with the no cheat Wednesday today because I have a salad for lunch and then I am in a seminar this afternoon so too busy to eat. I plan on working out when I get home and making myself Chicken for dinner!
It's Weigh-In Thursday! I'm happy to report I lost 1.5 pounds from last week (remember I refused to move my ticker
because I'd had so much soy sauce the night before?). So my ticker stays the same today. Really for me, it's about the exercise (or lack of), I'm having such a hard time getting motivated. I feel pretty positive about my eating, for some reason, it's become easier. Now, when I think "I REALLY want that (whatever it is, chips, cake, pizza...), I eat something healthy first and then wait 20 minutes and usually I don't want it anymore. But that darn exercise...that's a whole 'nother story. And I have no reasonable excuses...I just don't do it regularly enough. This is my new challenge, to figure out how to get adequate movement in my life and DO IT!
Yay Susan!!!!!!!! ![]()
Well Ladies I was up to 143 but I guess through watching what I eat and loosing some water weight....you all know that story, I have managed to come down to 136.6.
But that is still shy of my recent 124. that's 12.6 pounds to go. A total of 16.6 to loose in total to reach my goal weight. ![]()
![]()
![]()
Can we say "HERE I GO AGAIN! ![]()
So my goals are more exercise and to get myself into curves to register and continue to really hone my skills back to my healthier eating habits I was practicing regularly.
My oldest is home and comfortable, my kiddies are content now to have everyone home at once again.
My oldest is starting to feel a little more like herself everyday so things are looking up!
Now to keep going up this weight loss/ healthy habits hill I have been stuck on and sliding down.
So I give our battle cry long, loud and proud!!!!!!
DIE YOU STINKING FATCELLS....D-I-E!!!!
Well I guess I am going to have to make TODAY my no cheat day. I got myself sort of wrapped up in some other stuff this week and didnt make weight loss my main focus. So I did maintain at 152.6, though on Monday I was down to 150.8. Oh well. I just need to get fired up again this week! I still feel pretty motivated, i just need to make it one of my main priortities.
Congrats all who lost weight though! It is an inspiration!
Goals: Same!
Hi, everyone!
2sdae, glad to know that everything is somewhat back to normal and that your oldest is home and more important comfortable. Make sure to take care of yourself, also. Do you have a tutor coming in for a couple hours? When my daughter was home from school for a couple months with her kidney problem when she was six, the school sent a tutor out to the house and we had a nurse in once a day to give her her IV drip medication.
Susan, glad to hear that you lost some. Keep up the good work. I found that just walking helped me lose several sizes. Of course, I had some help last October with that. My hubby lost his job and we had to downsize so the car was gone. We still haven't replaced it yet and we are wondering if we should anytime soon. Who was it who said that it helps if you have a destination? I know that is true.
Merrissa, you'll get back on track. Take it day by day. Once something excting happens it kind of takes our mind off of things. Did I tell you how great your cake was? I don't think I could ever do anything like that.
I completely forgot to step on the scale this morning. Hubby was off so I got to sleep in until 6:00 and then I was talking to him and I forgot when I went into the bathroom to drag the scale out from under the table and get on it. For some reason I don't think I did too good last week anyhow. I'll try to remember tomorrow, although it is up at 4:00 once again. I'm ready to chuck the scale once again anyhow. I just don't understand how I can weigh 160 lbs at my size. I think I'm building muscle mass. I always did weigh more than I looked.
Goals for the week:
1) Breakfast every morning
2) Water
3) Stay away from the Halloween candy!!!!!!!!!!
Well, it's time to think about starting work. Talk to you all later!
Good morning all
Frist of all 2sdae, YEA that your oldest is home and feeling better. I have been keeping you in my thoughts!! Congrats on the loss, and hopefully now that everything is back to normal you can have that me time!
I had a gain of .8, but not suprised since I was out of town and didn't work out like I normally do.
I did really well in no cheat Wed. The only thing that I did eat that I shouldn't have was 4 small dill pickles and about 15 olives. I cant stay away from those olives!!!!! I am so proud of myself, last night DBF decided that he wanted to go to Sullivans Pier (a great place for fried fish and shrimp). I said OK I'm sure there is something that I can find to eat. Well when we walked in I soooooo wanted the fried stuff. I looked at the menue and found a baked cod with lemon pepper rub, steamed vegis and cole slaw. That is what I ordered. By the way I HATE filet fish, and this was not bad. It could have had a bit more flavor, but still was enjoyable. Now my DBF was sitting across from me with 3 pieces of fried fish, 3 pieces of fried shrimp and a mound of fries. I had one bite if his shrimp and that was all. Then he stoped at Dunkin Donughts and got 6 of them to bring home, I didnt have any!!!!!!! Not even this morning.
These are such great steps for me, and great control!!
Susan, great job on the loss!
Merissa, I look at it as at least I didn't gain. Good job on maintaining.
My goals for the week will be
: try again to extend my work out times, have not yet attained that one.
: Keep up my food journal, I think this will be a weekly goal until it is a habit.
: cut down my dinner portions, a little at a time.
Happy loosing everyone.
Hi everyone!
I haven't post in a while, I was really busy last week with a big wedding cake for 300 pl, plus other cakes for 100 pl, all for the same wedding... It was a very stressful week. I didn't exercise that much, still got my eating well, but geez, when I weighed in this morning I was up two pounds!! Got to get on that step machine again.... At least there's no big orders this week.
Oh well, I'll just have to get more careful with my stress!!!
I'll try to post more later this afternoon, after I catch up with all the posts I've missed in this thread, this could take a while ![]()
YAY!!! Everyone seems to be doing so good! ![]()
I ams o glad. The tutor just left us so the little ones are snacking on homemade veggies soup and grilled cheese with whole wheat toast.
I had the soup and an apple with crystal light for lunch. I love home made soups so I can eat those all winter......wonder if I can live off my chicken soup and veggie soup??? ![]()

Hi Everyone...we're off to the start of "our" new week (Thursday - Thursday, we make our own rules!!).
I nominate Michelle - Karate to be this week's cheerleader! A great weekend to everyone. I live about 45 minutes away from Venice and am taking the train there tomorrow to meet a friend from New Orleans who's traveling through, so I hope to get some walking in. Good luck to everyone and thank you for the support!
Good morning, everyone!
I remembered to weigh myself this morning and I am back down those two pounds from last week. 154. My goal is going to be under 150 by the end of November. I just have to get back on track a bit again.
Susan, I hope you enjoy your weekend in Venice.
2sdae, how is everybody? How are you doing? Is the stress being relieved any? Still thinking of you and your family and praying for you.
Pootchi, it's nice to hear from you again.
Have a great weekend everyone! This weekend I'll be visiting with my parents in Ohio on Saturday and then I'll be doing some major cleanup on Sunday so I probably won't get any time to get on the computer this weekend.
Karen
Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a couple of weeks as I've had my kids home on holidays and lots of cakes to make. It's been pretty busy.
2sdae, great to hear you have your daughter home and feeling better. It must have been a pretty crazy time for you all!
Karate, where do you get your willpower??? You wanna throw a bit my way???
I've been too scared to weigh myself. I lost weight while we were away on holiday, and I think I've put it all back on again! I find it so much easier to diet while I'm on holiday. Am I the only weird one??? I think I have a problem with eating out of boredom....not that I have nothing to do, but I get depressed about all there is to do, and how quickly my 3 sons can turn my clean house into a disaster area!
Anyway, that's enough negativity, I am going to work hard this week to get my weight back down to the 152 that I was down to. I will keep up with exercising (been doing well with that), drink plenty of water, and stop snacking between meals!!!
It's friday ladies....SO let's up the efforts this weekend. Let's strive to make this our best weekend yet! ![]()
Let's all do our damnest to eat healthily and exercise in a fun way...say a nature walk to see the fall leaves, raking and jumping into those leaves, indoor swimming, running in the yard playing tag with the kids. What ever your chance for exercise is, let's grab that alternative and run with it...pun intended! ![]()
We can and will change ourselves for the better because we are STRONG AND DETERMINED WOMEN WITH A PURPOSE!
So up that water intake, brake out them running/walking shoes, and make our way to the healthy bodies we know we have hiding underneath the not -so- healthy ones.
let me hear you shout it.........
DIE YOU STINKIN FAT CELLS....D-I-E!!!!
Well, I've read all the posts I've been missing....
2sdae, I'm so happy that your daugther is feeling better! You're a great mom!
To all the others: there's been ups and downs, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one, but WE CAN DO IT!!!
I've changed my exercise routine. The step machine that I borrowed from my dad is great exercise but I don't get my heart rate very high, I don't really sweat unless if I do over an hour. So I got out my simple "step" and after 20 minutes I sweat like crazy and I can feel it! Maybe that's why I wasn't losing any weight lately!
And now we only have one car. We decided to get rid of the old car. We'll save on gas, insurance and so on... plus when hubby is at work, I'll have to walk to get somewhere, that means more exercise! I'll do the grocery shopping when he's home, or I'll have it delivered!
I'm only 10 minutes away from almost all the stores so I can do it!
I won't change my ticker, I'll change it only if I lose, it's so depressing when you gain....
I made a ticker but I don't know how to put it on here. Can anybody help me with this?
Actually I need to change it but I don't think I can do that from work so that will have to wait for a while.
I think you need to go into your profile and add it to your signature? I cant remember for sure
Hey everyone......well I weighed in this morning and lost another 2 pounds. I haven't been exercising as much as I was. I still do 5 days a week...at least an hour long but for a while I was up to as much as 3-4 hours a day! It has been sooooo hectic around here I just haven't had the time. I was really hoping to get back on track this week but I doubt it. I think I will be lucky to get in as much as I am from now to Christmas. It's kinda depressing thinking about that!
Anyway, I am glad everyone is doing well! ![]()

Good morning everyone.
What an honor to be chosen as cheerleader so soon after joining the group, I only hope I can inspire as much as Susan did this last week.
First off:
Susan have a great time in Venice! Remember your water as you walk around!
Pootchi glad to see you are back, great job on eating well when stressed and busy. That is the easiest time to just grab something fast to heck with healthful! Good idea on changing the routine. I find that I hit a platue when using the same thing all the time. I try to change my afternoon work out every day, but the morning is always the treadmill.
Otter, good job on the loss, you can make your goal! Have fun visiting with your parents.
scgriffiths: Wow you can loose while vacationing- that is when I gain. You ask where I get my will power....well I was diagnosed with borderline Diabetes last December. My A1C was at a level that my Dr decided to let me try to loose weight to get it down instead of going on meds right away. That is my motivation, but I have had a hard time loosing (I have only lost 4 pounds in 1 year) Well he passively yelled at me at my last appt, said that controlling my diabetes with diet means that I actually have to loose weight. That kicked my willpower in the behind. Keep at it something will kick your willpower up a notch too.
2sdae, I love your posts they are so up beat and motivating, even when you are going thru something so stressful, you still are here to motivate us!
jenbenjr Great job on the loss!!! Keep up the hard work. dont get to upset of you drop your time down, just keep doing something and then watch what you eat, making sure you have the healty choice. If you are doing shopping, park at the end of the lot, this will add a few steps in your day.
OK now....
For my challenge this week, it is not so much a fitness challenge as a mental/emotional challange.
I believe that we have to love ourselves enough to make a change to a healthy life.
So this week I want everyone to look themselves in the mirror at least once, more if you can, and tell yourself something that you like about yourself. Does this make sense? Like for me: this morning I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror (at work because that is where I read that I am the cheerleader) and said that I like that I am a positive person. I may have issues that are on my mind, but I dont bring everyone around me into them, and I can usually find something to smile about. People have told me they like me around because I am so positive. I love that about my self.
Now I am not saying that you have to share this with us, it may be something very personal that you want to keep to yourself. It may be something physical you like, or something that you did that day.....The idea is to love something about you that makes you want to continue on this life long journey to a healthier you.
We can all move on and forward from this spot and toward our goals, lets go girls!!! (oh you know I have no idea if we have any guys in our group, if there are please let me know I would hate to be sexist!)
AAAAWWWWEEE GGGGEEEEEEE, THANKS Karate! ![]()
I try to be upbeat to keep myself positive and keep my faith that God has us all in his arms and what safer a place could you be?
I think if you speak, think and try to keep positive not only do you help yourself but you can touch someone else's life in a way they may really need, even if you don't know they need it. ![]()
I started this to do exactly that, encourage, help, listen and be there for anyone and everyone who could or does need us.
So in that spirit my challenge was completed.
I love that I may make mistakes, I may fail but I keep on keeping on.
Someone on here once said,"it's not how many times you fall but how many times you get right back up."
I also have to confess I love the way my hands look when I manicure and paint my nails. So feminine and just more graceful looking to me.![]()
![]()
Karate, you are very inspiring. I am starting the day with enthusiasm! I'll take the kids for a swim today (and join them, of course!)
Good Saturday morning everyone!
I did well last night at dinner. We ordered out for Chinese. I had Kung Pao Chicken, and ate only 1/2 and put the rest away. Suprisingly I was full the rest of the night and didn't go back for more.
I will be out and about all day today doing some shopping and then to a birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza, love their pizza. I will have a salad before I have a piece of pizza and then limit myself to 1 maybe 2, I usually eat at least 4 sometimes 5 of the thin crust.
Hope everyone has a great day and finds at least one thing that they love about themselves!

Good Morning all
The weekends are the hardest for me, as we are so busy with family get togethers all them time, and they are surrounded by food. I did pretty well yesterday, today will be a cook out.

Michelle, you're a great cheerleader! Thank you for your example and inspiration. Weekends are hardest for me too because they're unstructured and so many social events with great food. I did fair this weekend...could've done better. I did walk a lot in Venice on Saturday, so that helped, I think. Europe went to Daylight Savings Time over the weekend so it also helped to get an extra hour of sleep on Sunday...nothing wrong with that! My goal this week is to work on exercise.

No photos here. The camera adds 30 punds. Or maybe that's just the ill fitting clothes I wear. I have got to get some clothes that fit. Well, enough of that.
I didn't do well at all this weekend. We went to Ohio to visit my mother and stopped by the hospital to see hubby's mother. She fell and broke her hip on Friday. The woman is hiding something. She either doesn't know or will not admit to why she fell. She says she did not black out this time. I think she was just trying for attention because it seems that everyone was out of town this weekend. I am sure she did not mean to break a hip but I think she was up to something so she could get some attention. You have to know my MIL to understand that, yes, she would do something like that.
Anyway, I didn't have breakfast on Saturday or Sunday. I don't know why I can't seem to eat on the weekends. I need to figure out some quick breakfasts that I can grab and go. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I also went to Popeyes on Saturday. I was craving fried chicken. I don't usually crave fried foods and rarely eat them.
Yesterday was clean up and cooking day. I made some loaves of bread for a sandwich tray I am bring to work tomorrow for the halloween party.
This morning I had my usual piece of toast but had nothing before I left the house.
I really have to get motivated to eat again. I think the cold and dark are getting to me again this year.
The walking is still going well with over 14,000 steps on average. Saturday I was a bit lower, but I didn't really get out too much.
Hope everybody else is well. Gotta go now.
Karen
Good morning everyone!
Well I did have a salad on Saturday but they only had very small ones, so I ended up having 3 pieces of pizza just to get full. Saturday night at the Halloween party I had 4 chicken wings and a bit of pasta salad. Yesterday had grilled chicken and a piece of pizza for dinner. I didnt do badly, but could have been better.
I have my salad for lunch and am ready to get the week going again.
I will be making a pumpkin cake for work, do the baking tonight and the decorating tomorrow so will have to stay away from the scraps and icing! I think if it doesnt work out then I will be making cake balls...mmmm...
Susan I envy you being able to see all those sites. Would love to get to Venice someday!
2sdae Good for you sending a whole cake out of your house and out of your reach! Funny about the calendars, what fun that would be though, just for us!
You know Otter breakfast is the hardest for me also. I hate eggs and pancakes/waffles/french toast is sometimes too sweet for mornings. This severly limits my options to having sides of meat (ham or bacon), toast and hashbrowns. I have been eating Cream of Wheat during the week, and when we have breakfast with DBFs family, well then there is eggs, chorizo, potatoes and home made tortillas......Other that that I usually have two pieces of wheat toast with low fat PB. Very boring.
Any ideas on breakfast that dont include eggs anyone?
I know your pain with cravings Otter. I do believe that you have to satisfy those cravings, but within moderation. If you dont, and completely deprive yourself all of the time it will back fire soooo badly. I used to do that, then after about a week or two, I go crazy and eat everything that I wanted all in one day and not in any kind of moderation!!! Not a pretty site.
Wow that is alot of steps in a day, Great job.
