Otter and Jenbenjr, congratulations on your losses!! I can't wait to be where both of you are. I LIKE getting this excited about losing a pound, I certainly never felt this way about GAINING a pound!!
I'm still at work but leaving soon...everyone take care!
Good morning everyone
First off Jenbar, Otter great job on your loss.
I wighed myself and did my measurements.
weighed in at 214.2 that is a gain of 1.2 pounds from last week, although I am not going to get too worked up since I had lost 4 pounds last month that I didn't know about.
Bust 45
Hips 44
Thighs 24
Arm 14
No changes there but didn't expect them to since I got to work out 1 day this week.
My neck is soooo much better today. I will get up tomorrow and work out since I didn't do much this week.
I got one of those at home blood pressure machines to keep tabs on my own BP and this morning when I got up and hadnt done anything else yet it was 112/86, which is pretty good since it was 150/88 at the docs office on Wednesday.
Ok, on to the next week and a better week!!!!!!!
Karate,
Glad to hear you are feeling better. Also very glad to hear the bp is down.
THanks for the nomination, Jenbenjr
Otter, I did great during the day but then tripped some at night
I had a slice of wheat bread w/ peanut butter. I guess it could have been worse, though. After dinner, the kids and I did take a walk "to see everyone's Halloween deco". That got them going!
So I feel good about that. I do need to do more working out on my own though.
So, this week I think I'm going to start pushing the working out. It sounds as if you all are on the right track w/ that but I guess I need to make this a cheer to motivate myself as well.
You all are such inspiration to me!
Also, I'm going to push the water like always
I know it may get old but I'll say it again. I cannot believe the improvement in my skin, hair, and digestion. Not to mention the full feeling from all the water. I haven't had heartburn since I don't know when ![]()
How about we go for a goal of ten glasses per day? Also, Maybe to drink one full glass before we begin to put any type food into our cake holes
Seriously!
WATER WATER WATER...
We ARE BEAUTIFUL Women! Let's love ourselves like we love others... WE ARE WORTH ALL THE HARD WORK ![]()
Congratulations on the losses everyone!!! Sorry I wasn't around yesterday, I was sad with a 1 lb gain.
Today I leave for Canada (6 hrs in a car so I'm going to have to give up the water). It's scary, we're going out for dinner for my Nana's b-day and then Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. I'll definitely have to start hitting the gym when I get back.
The worst (and best) thing is happening. We're moving kind of unexpectedly. I knew we would be but not so soon. I am excited but it's so far away from the gym I just joined >cry<. Dh keeps saying we'll join a gym out there but we'll have to pay full prices/sign up fees when we just payed $99 for a full year to return to our previous gym. Oh well, I'll figure something out.
Anyway gotta go get the kids ready for swimming.
Hope everyone has a excellent weekend and is better than I know I'm going to be (I know, I'm a hypocrite lol)
Have a good weekend, Casey! Talk to you when you get back!
Hi guys! Sorry I didnt weigh in yesterday. I have been sort of in a slump this week. Overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated. I don't know I guess I was just staying away for some reason. Anyway I gained a little (like 1/2 a pound) and weighed 156. I just keep looking at the mirror today wondering how my butt got so big!!
Never quit trying though.
Susan, 10 lbs is always a great motivational start - I can't wait until I can fit into my new-old clothes again! Emotions are definitely part of the battle! Last night I was tired and sick and blah, and instead of sticking to the no-cheat Thursday at 9 pm last night I ate like 6 undipped cake balls. oops. big oops.
Ah well... I'll just have to do better this weekend with Canadian Thanksgiving - I'm bringing dessert to the potluck.
Jen and Otter and Karate - wohoo on the weightloss.. that is excellent! I LOVE buying new clothes - especially in smaller sizes!
OK Lynda - water I can do. The guy that sits by the water cooler at work always teases me since I'm there ever hour to refil my glass. My bf calls me a fish because of all the water I drink
I'm here to cheer you on to get working out more - involving the kids is great and teaches them a healthy lifestyle!
Casey, good luck on the trip and I'll be fighting with you this weekend to be good!
Ok... as you can see I'm bored.... I'm stuck at home sick with no TV and no books with a dog that won't stop whining. ugh. TGIF!
Hi everyone,
I just spent ages catching up on all the latest here. We've been for our trip to Darwin, and I only had very limited access to the internet. I've missed the last 5 weeks!!! Lots has happened I see.....new members and lots of weight loss.....welcome & congrats!!!!!
The good news is........I lost weight while I was away!! We went from cold little Tasmania up to roasting temperatures and the kids and I spent about 2 hours in the pool each day, so I got lots of exercise!! I'm now down to 152, so 3lb lighter than when I left. I just have to keep it up. We've returned at the beginning of the school holidays, so I'm not going to have much chance to get out of the house and exercise on my own.
Anyway, it's good to be back, and I'm looking forward to the motivation from you guys again!!
Nice to see you back, scgriffiths! Congrats on the weight loss!
Karen
Good Morning Everyone! I know it's Saturday, but hopefully you all read this even if you don't have time to post. It seems like we all trip some now and then especially on the weekends. The important thing is that we stand back up and continue on our pursuit of good health and weight loss. Casey and crislen, enjoy Thanksgiving. Just remember the next day is back to work. And we can all still work in our water with our meals, even the bad meals. I figure it has got to make a difference in the way we digest and how much we actually eat
Also, and I'm going to definitely start to implement this myself, I think we should spend a few minutes here and there just moving around, like dancing, going for a quick ten minute walk, or doing jumping jacks; everything counts! ![]()
Congratualations to All of us for our efforts and Good luck to all with the coming weekend and holiday for some ![]()
Remember to drink your WATER!
WATER WATER WATER
DIE STINKIN' FAT CELLS, DIE!!!!
What's this about the water killing fat cells?? I KNOW this has already been answered somewhere in here, but honestly, I don't have time to read 156 pages to find out. Do tell please!! ![]()
Water kills fat cells?? What??! Really? Like, a lot??! ... I just posted in another topic about needing to lose 10-15 pounds and tone up. ...Sorry to jump in about the water thing, just VERY intrigued!! ![]()
Hi everyone!
Last night I cheated and ate three sugar cookies
I know I'm bad.... I was so craving sugar. Usually I'm more a salt person, but I was so craving sugar and didn't know why until this morning... It's that time of the month again... and it hurts like h***! Other than that, I did good... It's thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, but we don't celebrate in my family, French Canadians don't really celebrate that... it's just a long weekend great for hunting! So DH is gone for the weekend with bil and his godfather. My dad is taking my youngest hunting on Monday, it's their tradition since my son is 3 y-o.
Well, I'm following the nutritionist plan, to help my liver... it's not that hard, except I love the taste of olive oil in my food, and I had to cut down on this too.... She suggested that I switched to 1% milk or skimmed, but I know my dh doesn't like those, So I still buy them their 2% and I buy myself some soy milk. It's supposed to be good for a lot of things also. I buy the flavored ones, I've checked the labels, it's like regular, but tastes better. It's supposed to help with pms also, we'll see next month if I still have cravings or not ![]()
This morning I did a little workout, I went out to get some wood for the woodstove (yes it's freezing here, around 30s today, and in the 20s tonight). Getting wood in the shed while trying to "escape" a 75lbs 6 month-old puppy, I call that a work-out!!!
You should see me when I'm trying to walk him, or should I say he walks me! ![]()
LadyDZA, I don't know about water actually doing anything to the fat cells themselves. But I do know that it aids in your digestion. I once did the Atkins Diet and without fiber it would be hard to have bowel movements, but the water kept everything moving. Sorry to gross anyone out ![]()
Also, it reduces bloating by acting as a natural diuretic ![]()
Good morning, I will start out Monday confession.
As usual this weekend was bad, I just have a hard time with weekends when we get together with DBF's family.
Friday started out with wings, Saturday was burgers and hotdogs wrapped in bacon (gotta say not a fan), chips and dips, yesterday was pork chops, mashed potatos and corn.
I did not work out at all, what a disapointment I am to myself!!!. I overslept this morning and only worked out for 15 min this morning and will not have time to work out tonight since I have to do the grocery shopping afterwork cuz I was toooo lazy yesterday to do it.
Back to my water and my salad for lunch!!!!!
OOPS
I forgot it was Monday. It's a holiday here (Columbus Day) and the kids are home from school. Probaby more bad choices in store but I'll try to keep them down to a minimum. Sorry I haven't been the best cheer leader but We know what we need to do. Let's get back on track and at least move in place if we can't actually do a full work out. Let's drink a full glass of water before each meal. WOO HOO!
My mom gave the kids a Nintendo Wii this weekend. They only have the Wii sport game for now, and it's really a good thing. We let them go get other games at the video club, but that Wii sport game IMO is better for them. They actually move a lot. I tried the boxing training part, and geez I was sweating and my heart rate went up. I think I might add this to my training...
DH and I even played a game of bowling and we had a lot of fun together, just the two of us... we felt like kids again!
Of course they added some Wii games on their, already long, christmas list
My dd is dyslexic and fell in love with the big brain academy game
that'll help her a lot....
So this week I'll add "boxing" to my work-out, that'll help to don't get bored. Doing the same things over and over again, that's what gets me to quit sometimes...
We'll see... YAY for my mom, for once I'm happy with what she brings the kids... I also will add that my parents are the owners of the video club, so this Wii was already used. They decided to change it before it gets broken, so they got a new one for their business and my kids got the used one, still works #1 ![]()
Now for that monday thing... well I was good this weekend except for those cookies on Saturday... and yesterday I was so hurting with those cramps... I've put oinment on my belly took 3 advils, and sat down on the comfy chair.... When the meds kicked in I was so drowsy, but at least it didn't hurt anymore.... but 4 hours later, I KNEW it was time to get more meds! This morning it still hurts but it's way better. So I'll be able to move...
I didn't have pains like this in ages! I don't know what happened.. anyways....
Keep it up girls!!! we can do it!
Good morning everyone! Hope our Canadian friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving and didn't obsess about "dieting."
Pootchi I hope you are feeling better today.
I want to add that water assists in boosting metabolism so that you burn more calories. (Which reminds me that I need to go get my gal before work starts.)
Just wanted to tell everyone to have a great day today!
Karen
Hello All! I'm back on the wagon
I just took a minute to check in here and see what everyone was up to. I'm packing up my house right now as we will be moving in less than three weeks. It's amazing how much stuff we have
I've been throwing things away and donating other things to charity but it seems like the packing is never ending. I wish I could fold my arms and blink it over to the new house a la I Dream Of Genie!
Does packing and moving count as exercise? ![]()
Does packing and moving count as exercise?
Anything that gets you up and moving burns calories. So yes the packing and moving will help you.
Cleaning, gardening and the such burns calories as well. 'Exercise' doesn't have to be running 5 miles to make it benifit you. Moving your body as much as you can during the day will help alot to.
Well... Thanksgiving for me has come and gone and I did good...except for the wine!
Since my family is another province away, I went to a potluck hosted by a close friend of mine for all of us that didn't have family to get together with. I was responsible for dessert (took bite size pumpkin pies, cheesecakes, gingersnaps, and a pupkin roll) and did ok with all of it while baking - not too much sampling for me. And at the dinner, I only had 1 serving of everything - and only 2 bite size pumpkin pies!
But I didn't get alot of exercise in, my poor bum is still hurt, but I promise to get back on track!
scgriffiths, congrats on losing weight while on vacation!! That is excellent! wohoo!
And I gotta say, I love the Wii! Some of the games (esp, sports) keep you moving, oh, and reminds me what a horrific bowler I am!
And back to my water I am... I actually start to feel weird if I don't get my water in each day. lol.
Have a good tuesday all.
Moving is definately exercise! Take it easy. I know exactly how hard it is to move and how much stuff can accumulate in just a little time.
I almost cooked up a big breakfast but then I remembered that today is no cheat Wednesday!
THank goodness for you guys! I'm going to go fill up on water. How is everybody else, doing?
Let's be faithful to ourselves, Ladies! ![]()
I'm doing ok but I am getting very sleepy right now and may have to do something to wake myself up like eating my lunch early. I am fighting the urge to have a cup of tea for the caffeine. Guess I am not going to do very well with this getting up at 4:00 in the morning.
Eeek, Otter! Did I miss something? Why are you getting up at 4 a.m.? ![]()
Long story. Suffice it to say that the rental car was messed up this week so we took it back so we are getting up at 4:00 so that we can use one of the rent-by-the-hour carrs and get Hubby to work. Turns out to be less expensive anyway but I won't get any sleep any time soon. Can't wait until we get a car. Unfortunately with the inspection it is almost impossible to find a good car cheap around here.
Well, it is adding quite a bit onto my morning walk anyway. My pedometer read 15,600 and some steps yesterday.
Karen
Wow Otter... that is alot of walking - wohoo! Hopefully it shows up on the weigh in tomorrow. And I hope you find a car soon.
Well... I'm not cheating yet!! I'm going to be good, even if it is only for just this day. I refuse to touch the smarties sitting in my car melting.... or the peanut m&ms in the candy machine. We can do this.
Get that water in ![]()
Wow Otter... that is alot of walking - wohoo! Hopefully it shows up on the weigh in tomorrow.
It didn't show up. I was up a half pound this morning. That's ok, though, because I am still down eight pounds from this time last year. ![]()
Goals for this week:
1) Water
2) Eat right
3) Vitamins
I think I have the exercise down. I already have over 7,000 steps on my pedometer and the day isn't even started yet. I'm wondering how long this will continue. At least through this month and into next month, I'm thinking.
Well, it's cold and I am sure it isn't going to warm up any again. It will be next May at least before we get any warm weather again.
Have a great day everybody! Keep up the good work ![]()
Hi everyone! sorry, I know i havent been very active here the last couple of weeks. I have been in my "slump" just worrying why I can't seem to lose weight. Well anyway I decided to try CalorieKing. It is an online program sort of like weight watchers. I signed up and there is a 7 day money back, so I thought I would see how it goes and if I like it. I just signed up yesterday and I have to say it is sort of fun! For now....!
As for weigh in I am at 154.4, which I am happy to say is down 1.6 pounds from last week.
Goals:
Try out CalorieKing. Use what I have learned from other programs to make good food choices.
Drink 64 ounces water daily
Exercise 3-5 times a week...push myself!
Don't get discouraged!
Good morning everyone
Well I lost the one pound I gained last week, so am at 213.6. Glad of that.
I will be out of town, in New Orleans for work starting tomorrow and will return next Wednesday, so I will not be posting this week.
My goals for the week while out of town
1: work out at least twice (which will be 2 more than ever before!! yep even have the work out clothes packed!)
2: keep up my water in take (hard when working a tradeshow)
3: try to eat healthy (hard when on the road, but I can make better choices than I have in the past)
I did well yesterday I even managed to not have ice cream at DQ when a co worker wanted to go there for lunch, I am proud of that. BUT then for dinner my DBF didn't want to cook and he didn't want what I was going to cook so he brought home Burger King, wopper with cheese and fries. My problem is after work and dinner.........gotta come up with a fix for that~!
So, everyone have a great week and never give up!!!
