Suuure icon_biggrin.gif Hopefully this will help me stay on track this week too! Ok, my challenge to everyone this week is to get those food journals back out. They are a great idea and really helped me when I kept track of everything I ate. It makes it harder to cheat when you have to write it down & see it in black and white.

Has anyone tried the infomercial book - "The Weight Loss Cure" ? Just listened to th einfomercial while surfing CC and was wondering about this book. Of course, he's trying to make money off of desperate, overweight people but does anyone have a personal review of this book? TIA

Haven't heard of that diet book yet, but several people on here seem to think the south beach diet is very helpful.

Just looked on Amazon and the reviewer was very negative about the Weight Loss Cure. It really does boil down to: eating less and moving more!!

Lisa - good call on the food journals, haven't done mine since we had the plague.

Christina - I've been doing, well WAS I've got to get back to it, the Good Mood Diet. It's really just a good book on nutrition but she gives you like a recipe for your meals and snacks. Like Breakfast is a carb, a protein, one fat, a milk and fruit. Am snack two lean proteins - etc for the day. I sat and figured out a couple days worth of options before hand and it all worked out. She focuses so much on how great you'll feel that I had to give it a shot. Weight loss was a side effect LOL from following the diet. My big selling point was the line, I'm paraphrasing, 'sure you can eat a slice of cake, but you have to eat all your good mood foods for the day too.'

Any way it wasn't a quick thing, you have to commit for awhhile, but that's what I need.
Just my 2 cents

Ok ladies, the weekend is officially here so get your willpower ready!! The chocolate festival is 2 weeks away so we are going to be practicing all weekend - chocolate cookies, M&M brownies, and my daughter wants to try a chocolate pound cake recipe too. *sigh*

Extra treadmill for me this weekend thumbs_up.gif

okay so everyone time you eat a cookie, brownie or piece of cake you need to spend 30 minutes on the treadmill...LOL! Just kidding.....well it would help ease the guilt!

Last night I went out for dinner and pigged out. It was my meal for the week. so back to the diet now.

DH has asked me to make him a chocolate cherry cake today...give me strength!!
I'm going to the dr. next Wednesday to schedule my back surgery, I am so excited to get this over with!!!

Thank you Tuesday! My church is praying for me and my Grandma is too...since it is not God's will that I heal without surgery, I will hope that He's watching over me for a quick recovery!

On a related note, I've been worried about eating from boredom during my recovery, but I've decided to use that time with my Wilton practice boards. Maybe I'll finally get the hang of BC flowers!! (and if I make all Crisco BC, I definitely won't want to sample!!)

That's so exciting!!! My aunt was in a car accident 3 years ago and still has severe neck/shoulder pain, so I've seen first hand what it can do to someone's morale. I only wish you the best. icon_razz.gif

I hope everyone's doing well this weekend! I made DH his chocolate/cherry cake and discovered something wonderful...I don't like chocolate BC!! It was a wonderful moment!! LOL However, I did discover that sticking a freshly baked cake in the freezer overnight makes is more moist and yummy than I could have imagined. I'll have to call my mom to come over and take some of it home!

Tuesday, I wrapped in in plastic wrap right out of the pan and stuck it in the freezer. I've seen lots of people say they do this, but I'd never tried it before.

Hi guys...not doing 'the best' diet wise. I went to a shower yesterday, of course had a piece of the cake I made. Then when i got home I was starving (it was a 2 1/2 hour drive) so I ate leftover pizza that my husband had gotten for dinner. Oh well! Start over!

As for the freezer, I almost always put my cakes in the freezer. I usually let them cool completely first, wrap them in saran then in foil and they will be good for a couple of months in the freezer. It does make them really moist!

Shellie, I hope all goes well with the back surgery. When do you think it will be?

Christeena, you were approved! You are on the members list. I wonder if your e-mail went to junk or something? You are welcome to come on!

Sorry I haven't been around! I worked all weekend and did about a shift and a half today. We got a lot of snow and we actually got busy. That's good because I was able to be too busy to eat much! I still managed to get all of my points in without going overboard and even snuck in a few homemade chocolate chip cookies that my friend made for me.

I had a small vicory in my weight loss battle today. I got into some SKINNY JEANS!!!! They still had the tags on them! They are size 12 and I have been waiting to get into them. They were a little tight, but not too tight to not wear. Yay me!!

Merissa, don't worry! Tomorrow is another day. Dust off and climb back on the wagon!

Shellie, hang in there, hun! The Big Guy has you going through this for a reason, whether we understand it or not.

Alrighty, I'm going to take my tired booty to bed. Have a great night girls!

WooWoo!! That's awesome!! I actually wore my "skinny" jeans out and about on Friday when I went into school. Yay for us icon_biggrin.gif

I didn't do too bad this weekend - only two small slices of chocolate pound cake, then I took half of it to my parents (DH & kids ate the rest). Yesterday I only ate 2 Super Gooey Chocolate Drops & sent a bunch into work with DH today. We still have a lot left (one recipe makes about 50), so I'll send more out of the house tomorrow.

Tonight is my last Course 1 class so I'm making a chocolate chip cake today with chocolate BC (Shellie, I envy you - I could eat the whole batch by itself). I will try very hard to limit myself to only one piece!

Let's forget about our oopsies this weekend and concentrate on having a great week!!!!!

I have been feeling pretty rotten for about a year now. Headaches, itchy skin, fatigue, sinus troubles that won't go away, and difficulty losing weight. I've been to the doctor twice and they tested my thyroid and said it appears normal...but I sure don't feel normal! thumbsdown.gif

I recently came across an article talking about candida, or systemic yeast infection (one that is throughtout the body...stomach, head etc). It described me to a T! So excited to figure it out...however...

There is a whole list of foods that you have to avoid....I mean a BIG list! I hope I can do this. I'm sure I will feel much better. Wish me luck... icon_cry.gif

mocakes, if you think you have that, then you should go see a doctor to confirm it if you havent already. Maybe they can pinpoint the reason you might have it . I believe a systemic infection is usually a symptom of a bigger problem. I dont think it is very common, but is more common in people with compromised immune systems or diabetes. You should go back and get checked out. Good luck and i hope that you start feeling better soon. Keep after those doctors!
