Good idea, Tuesday! I have been trying to do this, but I have a terrible mindset that 'just this once won't hurt...' That gets me into SO much trouble!! Also, I just signed up on My Space and have caught up with some old friends...wow, they all look so good!! Nothing like a little friendly competition & trying to impress folks! icon_rolleyes.gif

O.K so everytime you put something in your mouth, drink or eat, ask your self this"Do I really need this and do I really want this, Will I regret eating/drinking this? icon_eek.gif It is amazing what you put right back down. icon_rolleyes.gif
Keep track of these converations with yourself and see what you can spare yourself having to loose later while gaining self pride for "putting down the cake!!!" thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif javascript:emoticon('thumbs_up.gif') thumbs_up.gif

That is a good challenge! I often do something similar. I will say "do I really want this?" Then I will tell myself to wait a set amount of time (usually like thirty minutes) and then ask myself the same question 30 minutes later. Sometimes I forget all about it. Sometimes I go through the same senario and wait another 30 minutes, and sometimes well, I give in.

oooooo, I like that let's add that part to my challenge. After you answer if you need it or want and if you'll regeret it wait 15 minutes then made more awares decide. I say 15 minutes due to people being at work and break limitations that kinda thing. YAY! I haven't been so excited about a challenge in awhile. Well, except for the food journal. icon_redface.gif Which for some reason scares me and I still haven't done it..... icon_confused.gif I wonder why?????

I had a terrible night. Suffice it to say, I need to remind myself that just because the microwave popcorn is 94% fat free, that does not mean I should eat the WHOLE BAG.
Ugh. Starting fresh today!! How did everyone else do last night?

I have been doing well! I think it does help to be the weekly cheerleader. Somehow it makes me feel just a little bit more required to stay on track. This morning I planned to go to the gym and secretly I was hoping like my alarm wouldnt go off (which it actually didnt) icon_redface.gif but I am really starting to feel accountable to my goals, so I got up and went. I knew it would feel good afterwards.

Our group is really helping me. You all are so supportive and fun! I know with some perserverence we can all meet our goals! It will be an uphill battle burning calories all the way!

Hey Shellie-could have been much worse! Popcorn isnt too bad, at least it wasnt a whole bag of chips. This might be an obvious suggestion to everyone, but what helps me is to always put a portion in a bowl. Dont eat from a bag or box, you wont really know how much you ate (unless you eat all of it that is!! icon_lol.gif )

Two days until weigh in....Lets do it ladies!

But boy do you think of food alot when you are not eating it!!!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif I was noticing as we drove by every restaurant how different the food smells were and thnking what would be the first food I would eat after the fast ends friday night. icon_rolleyes.gif Terrible, I know!

wow tuesday, are you choosing not to eat at all? Dont pass out or anything! I once tried to fast for one day. Well we said for like 24 hours.(my husband is Catholic, I am not, but I was trying to be supportive) By the end of the day I was was sick to my stomach and had a horrible headache. I dont think I could do it for days. Good luck, stay safe!

One area that I have been doing great is with my water. I'm sure everyone at work wonders what is wrong with me and exactly why I am going to the bathroom so often! LOL!!

haha! That reminds me of a story about my husband. Back when we were still dating he had a desk job that he thought was really boring. So he told me that he would drink a lot of water so that he felt like he had an excuse to get up from his desk and go to the bathroom. Silly man.

I just started getting the mini bags of Microwave popcorn. You can eat the whole bag but it's about 1/3 the size of the regular ones. Feels like a big splurge but it really isn't. I think it drifts back over into the presentation thing.

I haven't fully recovered from my quarter pounder fall. I've got a cold so exercising is out, can't breath. Water tastes like snot and the only thing I can actually taste is super salty or super sweet. icon_sad.gif Sorry I didn't mean to sound like a whiner icon_redface.gif That's my husbands job when he's sick icon_lol.gif

Anyway, sounds like you all are doing great. Keep up the good work and keep posting, it's keeping me from stuffing myself completely.

No worries, Rambo...if you can't whine a little to us, who can you?? Hope you're feeling better soon. It's awful to be sick and nothing tastes good. (except the bad stuff!!) The last time I was really sick, I ate nothing but Ramen Noodles for about a week (yeah, super healthy) and I lost a bunch of weight. I've been tempted to do that again...

LOL the Ramen Noodle diet. Think I was on that one in college. icon_lol.gif My girlfriend and I were just discussing this a couple days ago; The many variations of Top Ramen: Mix flavors, one beef, one chicken. Double the flavor packets. Skip the flavor packets. The possibilities are endless.

Hmmm now I think I know what's for lunch - counts as soup right?! icon_razz.gif

Sorry you are sick Rambo! I will bet when you feel better your are really going to feel positive again. I have been sick before when I cant even remember what it feels like to feel good. But then you do and it is such a relief. Dont let those germs get you! Last year I was doing so well about this time, exercise and diet. Then I got mono for a month. Afterwards it was really hard to get back into it. I really wish I had just gotten back on the horse. If I did I probably wouldnt be where I am today. I wish I had this group then to keep me going.

Ramen noodle diet! I wish! I loved those in college too. The sodium in those is probably enough to kill a person though!

Got another variation for you Rambo...my girlfriends and I used to drain off the water and mix the flavor pack in the plain noodles. Voila! Pasta!
LOL! My DD loves Ramen, poor kid's going to have high blood pressure before she hits her teenage years, those suckers are chock full of sodium!

YAY! party.gif I'm having a moment of victory here. A co-worker just walked in and offered me the last donut...I'm late for lunch and totally swamped and stomach is growling. But I declined! thumbs_up.gif Someone else just offered to run to the local fast food joint and get me a burger, also declined. Now I wonder if I'll have time to run home and get something healthy?? I may end up very hungry for dinner... icon_surprised.gif

okay, i have to admit...very, very tiny toot of my own horn. I did finally get away to lunch, went home and had a leftover bacon biscuit and a cupcake. Seriously!! I should have just had the donut...I'm never making cupcakes again! I made them thinking my family would like them for a change (more fun than a piece of cake) and no one is eating them! (DD told me the ganache needed 'more sugar', i used semi sweet chocolate. That little know-it-all LOL)

Well you know what "sort of helps" is to freeze them. I have even frozen slices of cake (wrapped up separately). It really helps. But now I am not saying I might not take one out and defrost it, but at least i am not staring at them all day...I swear I hear little cupcake voices calling me to the kitchen. Also if you dont have them frosted and you dont have any buttercream, then youre even less likely to eat them. Or at the very least if gives you a couple of minutes to change your mind!

Good idea, Merissa. The way my freezer gets, if I stick them in there, they will disappear forever! Luckily I won't have time to bake for my family this weekend, I have to make a cake for a coworker and one for my mom, so nothing will be staying in my house!

I do this with almost everything. I do not like frozen chocolate so it has to thaw which gives you time to reconsider. If I stick it in the freezer in the garage I have the entire walk to talk myself out of it, or more than likely I'm just too lazy to go all that way (LOL 30 feet tops)

Thanks for all your help guys. After I reread my whine I realized I was making excuses to over indulge my inner brat. I still feel icky but that's when we really should take BETTER care of ourselves, not hop up on sugar and salt. So once again in the words of Bartles and James (I think it was them) "Thanks for your support" thumbs_up.gif
