Some of you may know I just finished my cake shop and got liscensed and inspected. The whole reason for getting it done was to be able to make this cake. I think it is going to be the jump start to my cake company. It was for an event at the University of FL called "Tail Gator."

I made enough cake for more than 300 people, and it was all eaten! Size wise, it was deffinately the biggest of my career, but I think it was the most important because of all of the exposure it gave me. It was so fun to see everyone's faces when we brought it in. People couldn't believe it was cake. There was a little crowd around it and everyone had there cell phones out taking pics. It was a huge boost for my ego! icon_lol.gif

Wow, that's some gator!! If that doesn't jump start your cake company, I don't know what will!! How long did it take you to make that critter? It's just plain awesome!

Thank you! I started carving him at 5:00 p.m. and went to bed at 4:30 a.m.

I forgot to say that the thing in his mouth is the letter "T". It's the Tennessee logo. That's who the Gators were playing today.

That is one heck of a sculpting job!!! Awesome! How many cakes did you have to stack to sculpt such a masterpiece, and how many cake balls can ya make with the scraps? LOL icon_biggrin.gif
