but seriously, looks and sounds wonderful. could you please post the frosting recipe?

thanks debbie
no i dont think the vienna cream recipe is on here, its just another name for buttercream. but here it is
125 grams of butter ( american version is 1 stick i think)
1 1/2 cups of icing sugar (powdered sugar)
2 table spoons of milk
beat butter in a small bowl with a mixer until as white as possible. gradually beat in half the sugar, milk then remaining sugar . flavour and color as required.
you can flavour with any essence you like or finely grated rind of any citrus friuts.

What a beautiful cake. My 18th wedding anniversary is Dec 12. Plenty of time for the cake to get from Stawell to Melb. He! he!
Seriously, well done on the cake. I'm sure your friends loved it.

REALLY BEAUTIFUL...... I love the colour combination...WELL DONE .......how did you get that lovely shade of brown did you have to mix certain colours to get it ?
Denise

No worries barbara just let me know the colors and the cake is yours....lol
Denise4, yes i mixed 3 colors of ivory, brown and chocolate to get the color. i also added a crumbled up cadbury flake chocolate bar and folded it into the frosting just before icing the cake.

just wanted to tell everyone who said the cake looked beautiful and sounded like it would taste great....
Well i just had a visit from the girl i made it for and she loved it... she said it looked unreal and tasted amazing, saying it was all eaten very quickly.
this is great as it was a new recipe for a mud cake that i hadn't had a chance to try first so i was a little worried about the taste of it...
she also said she wished she could of had a cake like this for her wedding. which is great as i would love to do this style for a wedding... and the best part is they will spread the word about my cakes...
yeah.........
