Great idea!!! Here are 2 I did that I am proud of!

This is a cake I was very proud of, but unfortunately it only got saved 1 time
I've seen many similar cakes that were favorited at least 20 times.

Here are cupcakes that I posted in Wilton's forum too, I received at least 10 emails asking me for instructions, but here on CC, they were almost unnoticed.

I know what you mean, so much depends on how fast people are loading pictures, and the time of day you upload yours. It can be disappointing though can't it, like my two latest additions! Oh well...
Am I being a glutton for praise if I post another couple of pics ??!!
Yes, but I can't help myself !!
Not a glutton for praise! LOVED THEM LOVE THEM LOVED THEM -- TALENTED YOU ARE!! ![]()

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one. I love this thread, it gives us a chance to show our undernoticed work again. ![]()
I noticed that the time of day I upload my photos was very important.
I didn't think this one was so bad...lots of views no comments

i would have commented on it, but i just became a gallery supporter member! ![]()

OK, here are a couple from me. I'm still new to decorating so they aren't original ideas but, for me, an accomplishment to even make it look remotely like the pictures I found!

OK - I just had to put another one here. I was so proud of this cake and everyone at work went on and on about it and here I only got one comment.

My hand hurt so bad after this one, I wanted to cry. The lady picked it out of the Wilton Tiered Cakes book, and I felt proud of it. She liked it, but I do realize it's a different kind of cake.

Here's another labor intensive cake. I think it's the ones that we labor so hard over that surprise us when they aren't favs, or don't get that many views. Those little dots almost killed me, but I completely understand that there are many cakes like this already on the site, and how many basketball cakes does one need in there favs? LOL, anyway, I did receive several emails asking for directions for this one.

Here's one I'm most proud of. This was for my sister's bridal shower with a Disney fairytale theme. I spent 2 weeks working on this cake b/c all the decorations were made in advance.

This is probably the best of mine- I was excited to do my little sister's wedding cake
She wanted something simple, elegant, but with the bright (fresh) roses for a bit of drama

I had an email that I had a comment on it but when I followed the url provided with it there wasn't anything...
Ok - I make it through all 18 pages. There are a lot of very talented decorators here! Here is one of mine that took a long time to complete & I am the most proud of:

I was also really proud of this recent one:

I just noticed this thread tonight, hope I'm not too late to get in on it!! (I did comment lots of cakes on here, if that helps!)
Here is my cake:

Thanks for looking!
Bijoudelanuit, you comments aren't enabled.
The cake's lovely
Thanks, Nicolevoorhout, they're on now.. I didn't realise you could turn them on/off
I'm a newbie here... newly addicted it seems, too....
Hi ~
While I can get into the site I just wanted to THANK EVERYONE who was kind enough to look at my cakes and make comments on them.
I haven't been able to open links to read some of the comments and was lucky enough to get into this right now. So when I am able, I WILL post more comments for others.
Thanks again!!

Here are a few things though that I think help get your cakes noticed:
1. post in the forum (I am not talking about your cakes necessarily) but ask questions and answer them. People are always checking out user galleries when they see someone posting in the forums.
2. Don't post them when it is super busy over the weekend. In a flash they are buried beneath a bunch of newer cakes!
3. I think a cake is much more interesting to comment on when the person who has uploaded it has a description or a story to go along with it! I am much more likely to comment if the cake somehow "means something"
4. make sure you post them in the right gallery.
5. Make sure you use correct key words so people are able to search for that particular cake.
6. Link your designs to forums where people are asking for help with a design that you have already created.
7. Be patient
Thanks for all the tips. I would have never consisdered that posting at a certain time might make all the difference! It certainly makes sense though. I have to agree that the description is really important too. I love reading about the cakes and how they're put together and what they're made of.
Here is mine:

I just posted it a few days ago. I've had over 70 views on it but only 1 comment. I have been waiting to make this topsy turvy cake since I began cake decorating. To be honest, I'm happy it's over and not sure if I would do another but I'm pretty proud of my photo... at least it didn't fall over and it lasted till the party! Thanks to everyone! This thread was a great idea... there are many great cakes that get plenty of looks but not enough comments... I always try to comment on at least 10 cakes everytime I login to this site.
Hi all!
I just wanted to show my latest work:
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_790793.html
This is my newest cake, I just finished it an hour ago.

Enjoy, Deborah
Me too me too! Did this one last night in my sauna of a kitchen. I get a lot of inspiration from my kids clothes-can't help myself!!
