Can hardly wait. I love her work. I have to think of a good reason to NEED this book. My accountant (my mom) thinks I have enough books. Yeah, right.

Amazon.com is already taking pre-orders. A couple of weeks after the hardcover is out the paperback is coming out. At least that is what Amazon.com is saying. The hardcover is $65. OUCH!! I am hoping for a much better deal on the paperback version.

I love Toba's work, but the $65.00 is a bit steep for me right now.

Hi Everyone: I just love her work. I would buy her book no matter what it costs. I have already pre-ordered her book. I like hardback books better than the soft ones. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. Wish I could take her classes in NY. Vicki0052

The book is for sale here, on CC, for $58.50. It's listed as "sold out", but I assume that's because it hasn't been released yet. You could put it on your Wish List--I assume free shipping because it's over $50--and support the site..... icon_wink.gif

Everywhere I've seen it has it listed to be released on Sept. 8th. It's probably the same here. CC has a pretty good price too!

I'm going to sign up for it at the library----and I'm NEVER returning it!

Hey, for $.10 a day.............and that's only after I renew it 2 or 3 times! icon_wink.gif

By that time, maybe the price will have gone down.

I get so depressed when I try to get a library book over a period of months icon_sad.gif .

Often, I'd be happy just to "preview" a book to see if it's worth purchasing. Sometimes, I just want to copy a photo or recipe.

Actually, I wish the libraries would keep a non-lending copy of some books (especially picture and/or recipe books) that could just be used within the library--if they did that, I might have more room on my OWN bookshelves........ icon_wink.gif

I found the paper back on Amazon last week but it says it is the Instructor's manual to accomany Professioanal cake decorating. So I guess I will have to save to get Professional cake decorating.I don't think I would use the Instructor's manual. I thought that was a little fast for it to come out in paper back. But I was hoping!icon_smile.gif

What's an "instructor's manual?" Does it give more detail on the techniques?

The way I under stand it it will be used to teach .The paper back will be used to teach whats in the Professional cake decorating book .But lot's of teaching manual don't have every thing in them. It's to help you teach whats in the main book.It might be good to have I don't know but I could only get the Book first because of the price . Then wait and see if someone get's the Instusuctor's manual to see if it has anything helpful.

I don't know but mybe they're using her new book to teach her classes .She is a teacher.

I could be wrong .

I FINALLY got my copy and I"m in tears I'm so excited. I've gone through it page by page just in awe of everything she teaches. I am Toba Garrett's biggest fan in the world - I would behave like she was a rock star and faint if I ever got to meet her - and this is a monumental occasion for me!

To answer the questions I've seen here, kind of as another witness to how great this book is...

This book is great because she teaches from extremely basic methods to extremely advanced. It covers EVERYTHING, even how to ice the cake, how to torte the cake. I am a WMI and I personally think that her lessons are better than Wilton's, though I'll keep that to myself while in class.

I can't wait to try some of her techniques in here!

It's great to hear another opinion from someone who has the book. It is fabulous! Especially because, (just like you said) she covers EVERYTHING! Enjoy!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post a quick reminder. The cakecentral.com community depends on sales from the cakecentral shop.

We only allow links to products not offered on cakecentral.com.

It is ok to post a link to a specific product somewhere if it is not found at cake central. The cake central store is what allows us to keep this growing community free and so we cannot allow advertising of competing online retailers, intentional or otherwise.

no harm, no foul, just letting you know why it was deleted. thumbs_up.gif

Makes sense!

Maybe you can have a sticky topic stating this so the community can know these guidelines (not just those who come to this topic) to avoid this issue in the future. ---Especially since the CC store inventory is expanding so much. thumbs_up.gif Thanks!
