My hat's off to all you talented cake decorators that can make a sheet cake beautiful! I dread doing sheet cakes. It's the opposite for me - I see the blank canvas and get "cake decorator's block"!

Sheetcakes are very fun to do, they are challenging and can be AS challenging as any cake. I love ALL the cakes made by Cakery, CakesbyJess, Jenncowin AND whitgent, also Sarahnicole

notjustcakes, For someone who thinks sheet cakes are boring and cheesy, you sure had a lot of links on your original post. Your remark was rather rude, though. It takes as much creativity, work and talent in doing a sheet cake as it does stacked and tiered cakes. Sometimes more because it is difficult to decorate a 12x18 sheet cake to be pretty and professional looking.

Great topic! I wish I could get a sheet cake to look as fantastic as these decorators do....

#1 Cakery~ IMO She is the Queen of sheet cakes!! She adds such flair & life to all her sheet cakes~ Then ThanhThanh, Mac, momsanddraven, kiddiekakes, traci, gmcakes, also Steady2Hands she sure knows how to do FBCT! Those are a few of my favs!!

Many people talk about how they would rather not do sheet cakes for various reasons but there are TONS of talented people on here that are amazing no matter what they touch! Here's a helpful suggestion. When we upload sheetcakes we need to put the word "sheetcake" in the "key words" section to enable us to find sheetcake ideas easier.

Thanks for the compliments from a couple pages ago...just now got back to the computer. I have a sheetcake phobia and had t do a monthly birthday one for an office and boy did I dread the 3rd Thursday of every month (not sure why I don't like them). I guess coming up with a design is what i have a hard time with.

BTW...I like the idea of the sheet cake gallery, so we can get our inspirations in one spot!

schmoop with all the cake everyone has posted here I think it has a little bit of everything and it also would help like someone mentioned on this thread if when we upload photos we put sheet cake on the clue words.
