FROGS
LAST NIGHT I FOUND ONE IN THE BATHROOM (LITTLE GREEN RAIN FROG) I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GO CRAZY BEFORE DH COULD GET IT OUT & THEN HE MAKES ME OPEN THE BACK DOOR FOR HIM TO LET IT GO, OH I LOVE DH BUT I DON'T PUT IT PAST HIM TO GET A GOOD LAUGH AT MY EXPENSE, I JUST GLAD HE DIDN'T THROW IT ON ME
Snakes!!!!! ![]()
I keep my car windows rolled up even in the summer no matter how hot it gets...afraid that one will crawl in and wrap around my neck while I'm driving ![]()
.
My grandmother would kill them and then chase us with them when we were children ![]()

.
I am DEATHLY afraid of insects. I remember as a child, I had a strange dream in which everything was blanketed by bugs and I don't know why but I have had that dream again as an adult.
I have a very occasional millipede in the house....in the summer sometimes I'll see a waterbug. I say to myself that I'm just going to squash it with a shoe or something if I see one and when the time comes I have every intention of doing so but then I just get so shaky and I freak out. I can't even see one...a dead one without freaking out....never mind touching one...
Any ideas how to get over this phobia?
Lizzards!!!!!!! (snakes and spiders are right up there too!) ![]()
Not too long ago I was walking into the kitchen and there it was on my floor...a nasty blue lizzard!!!!!
I started screaming like a wild woman and jumped on the kitchen table!!! Our kitchen floor is ceramic tiles...the lizzard was trying to run from my screaming...and he couldn't go anywhere because the floor was so slick...
His legs were going a mile a minute but he wasn't moving a inch!!
Finally DH came running in from outside and thought I was half dead. He picked it up...ewwww!!! and put it outside. I hate, hate, hate them!!!! They are just a snake with legs to me!!!! ![]()
Too bad Matthew wasn't there to save you!

Spiders--
My ex-husband caught 3 tarantulas on our honeymoon. He was going to put them in acrylic for paperweights. They ended up dying--the DA didn't feed them. Then he would hide them around the apartment for me to find. One time he had it on the toilet tank and I had to p**. Nearly wet myself before I could get out of the bathroom. The next time he did it, He put the dead spider on the toilet seat, thinking I would sit on it. I flipped it in the toilet. Never said a word to him until he came looking for his dead friend. Now...any questions as to why he is my ex!!! ![]()
BATS!!!!
I was 9 months pregnant with my son when I spotted one flying around my apartment ![]()

. It was mid August and really hot so I was laying on the couch in the dark wearing only my maternity underwear and bra (no,not a very pretty picture)watching TV. DH was at company meeting and the only other people in the house were the family downstairs. You have never seen a pregnant woman move so fast to get dressed and go down a flight of stair. Just as I was hitting the bottom step the man downstairs threw open his door because he heard me running and thought I was in labor and he knew DH wasn't home. I'm surprised I didn't go into labor, I AM TERRIFIED OF BATS!!!! Luckily, he was a great neighbor and caught the bat.
BEES!!!!!
I hear that buzzing and I go running! I don't know why, I never had a reason to be afraid of them (til last summer). Last year I noticed that my oldest son started showing fear towards bees so I decided to show him that there was nothing to be afraid of....So I sucked it up and tried my best not to run and hide everytime I saw a bee. After a while I actually got over my fear. I was so proud of myself! Well one day as I was getting into my car and I felt this pain on the back of my leg I got out of my car and looked and sure enough I had been stung. I tried to remain calm as I walked back to my house but then I felt a pain on my arm and then a buzzing by my ear! I was being attacked by a swarm of bees! I was only stung 4 times but it was seriously traumatic! I am 10 x's worse than ever before! Sorry this was so long!
This may be childish, but I'm SO afraid of the dark!!!
I always have been; and I can't get over it. I freak out when I have to take the dog outside to potty at night and I REALLY freak out when the electricity goes out at night.
I sleep with the light on over my stove....it's dim, but just enough....I got rid of my nightlight just a few years ago; well actually dh got rid of it for me.
If you hear a weird sound in the daytime, it's not so bad, but at night, OMG!!!!
DH says I'm paranoid!
The weird animal under my car! lol
I just went to grab something out of my car and after I shut the door I heard a series of VERY strange noises....First it sounded like a cat growling and then it made a bunch of clicking sounds and then hissed. I looked under my car (from a distance) and didn't see anything. What the heck was it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
heights!!! Even on our honey, we went to a beautiful place up a mountain. Well let's just say I didn't see the view. Only in pictures that hubby took. I was sitting on the bench, holding it with two hands, while hubby was walking all around taking pictures and telling me how high we were!!! it's a chance I love him!!!!

Crowds, as a claustrophobic, I hate that closed in feeling of being in a crowd, I get panic attacks such as at a school concert or any other tight quarters type crowds. Couldn't handle church cause of the cramped crowds, now I go occasionally to a small outdoors church group, not so crammed !!! I also have allergies to scents and perfumes so that also causes me to have panic attacks in crowds, I end up rubbing my arms to center myself and have left many times with a raw bleeding spot on my arms from excessive rubbing due to the stress of being in a crowd, lots of scars on my arms from this !!! Unfortunately there are times one must be in these cramped crowds when one has school children. I usually try to be standing near the doorway and watch from there ! Otherwise I avoid crowds as much as possible !!!
I HATE Camel Crickets. Thats all I am going to day cause I HATE THEM so bad I am getting creeped out right now just thinking about them ![]()
NOTHING! I've walked over snakes while brush higging my field, had bats in my house for days (they'd hide during the day but fly around at night), have bugs and bees buzzing around the garden, and me!, all the time and I live in the middle of nowhere by myself without street lights where it gets VERY dark at night. If I don't leave the house lights on, you wouldn't know a house was sitting on that hill, that's how dark it gets! Having lived on my own since the age of 16, I guess I learned to not let anything spook me.
Well there are so many things ![]()
I see several things that other people have said that I am scared of also, but I think I'll go with SPIDERS. All spiders, but MOST ESPECIALLY grandaddy longlegs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!! You talk about almost killing one's self trying to get away from one of those things!! Makes my skin crawl!!
Also, we live in an older house out in the country, and we get Wolf Spiders really bad! If you have never seen one of these things, they can get pretty big!! HATE THEM!
NeeNee30--
We have wolf spiders, too. My husband killed one a few years bck close to where I was standing. Baby spiders went everywhere--she was carrying them on her bask. I PASSED OUT! Scared my dh.
About 10 years later, we went to Alabama and on a nature trail. Got half way thru it and I walked right into a HUGE web stretched across the trail. My arms went to flailing before my DH calmed me down. I almost hyperventilated.
All I could say was "Get me outta here!"
When we got to the truck he told me that if I would have passed out, he wasn't toting me out!
Emily - sounds like a raccoon
. they can be pretty weird animals!! My Yorkie used to run out the dog door to chase them off our porch - I was scared to death they'd kill him - they are about three times his size!
I am afraid of flying and dentists. Very afraid.
Bridges over water or driving near water, especially if someone else is driving.
I didn't have the fear until I had my first child and has actually gotten worse after I had each child. I think it started when I saw the survival stories they show on Dateline and 20/20 sometimes. Its not so much the fear of the water - its the thought of if the car went into the water, how to get three kids that don't know how to swim out of car seats and out of the vehicle. We have to drive over the Ohio river on our way to TN to visit my parents and I nearly have a panic attack now. We drive at night and last year my DH woke me up laughing just to tell me we were about to go over it - I could have hit him! ![]()
Wow-what a topic. I am afraid of getting water in my ears. I panic thinking about going deaf. I would rather be blind then deaf. I don't like going into large building that have 50 floors to them. I think about how the building could collapse and I would be alive under the rubble. I fear losing someone close to me. I have never shared these feelings with anyone. sunflowerfreak
