Tonight was leftovers. I had Pepper Jack Cheese Soup and grilled cheese, chips, and homemade bread.

Kay--I was going to school to be a teacher before I became pregnant. I lost the first one and this caused me to have to drop out of school since I missed so much. I became pregnant with Sean quickly after. So teaching just comes naturally to me. I do have a curriculum I use and just have to read to him mostly.

I also can't figure out how you sleep on a full size bed...lol. We have a king size (we traded an aunt our queen for her king) and it sometimes is too small. Especially when the kids climb in bed with us.

Juju after I posted it I realized I had put full size. I meant we traded up to a king size. That was because DD always slept with us. And she was a big bed hog. Now she sleeps on her own and DH works over night. So now I have a HUGE bed all to myself. Sometimes I wish DD would come up and climb in with me. But sometimes when DH is home we all crawl into bed and watch movies. POWER LOUNGING to the MAX thumbs_up.gif And that includes the teenager. Boy is that a tight squeeze. Probably why the bed is falling apart....LOL

Ok tonight was the lasagna. I babysat so they had some good eats. I am going to babysit again tomorrow and don't know what to have. Something easy but warm cause it's going to snow icon_cry.gif

I hope everyone is safe and warm. And good luck with this next batch of bad weather if it hits your way.

Well, Lau...

Tonight was "hunter stew" and bisquits. (That's where you go a'huntin' in yer kitchen for anything to put into a big ol' pot and call it "stew!") icon_redface.gificon_biggrin.gif

I've been on afternoons (2 to 10) this week, so dinner's been whatever's around that the Old Man can throw together. He's pretty good at it--especially if I've pre-frozen everything on Saturday and Sunday the weekend before! icon_biggrin.gif

Thought DS was all better--NOT. icon_cry.gif He did some projectile vomiting tonight just out of the blue. Here we were thinkin' he was done with it, and it was one of those 24 hour deals....gah! Poor kid.

As far as a bed--what's that? Is that one of those pedestal sleeping things that's comfy and soft? That thing you sleep in for more than like 3 hours without serious body aches and arthritis? Seems like I vaguely remember those things....hmmm...

I used to have a king-sized one. I seem to remember loving it. Before it turned into Lake Erie. thumbsdown.gif

NO NO NO!! NO KIDS IN MY BED, i'm a mean mama, but i mean business.....we did have a small problem with our son coming & getting in the bed with us when he was little & i'd take him right back to his...i asked the doctor about that & she told me it was most likely because i was letting him go to sleep on the couch & moving him to his bed, so after that it's was time to put him in his own bed before he went to sleep---ohhhhh i remember those long nights with me sleeping (or laying) on the floor until he went to sleep

oh yeah, i'm not really a mean mama, when they're sick i sleep on the couch & the last time DD was sick, i slept on the floor in her room &&&& a couple of months ago we had a really bad storm early one morning & DH went & got them so they wouldn't get scared (DS would just love me telling someone that, since he's 12--LOL)

ladies----don't go thinking i'm judging 'cause i'm not, it's just my little sis slept with my parents (well my mama when dad was trucking) it wasn't a happy night's sleep when he was home cause she wanted to sleep with them both--ugh (& yuck--haha)

chicken & dumplings for supper

decorating a cake for delivery tomorrow & i let my sis borrow my camera, i'm so mad, forgot all about the cake--i'll think of something--maybe

DALTON: Just a note to let you know that the Craigslist thing I posted yesterday turned out. A lady called me and we're meeting her Sunday to look at a mattress. She's got one for $50. We'll see if we can use it for a while, at least. THANK YOU THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANK!!!

KAY: What are husker pork chops? Love to have the recipe!

JUJU: Do you not just LOVE the Kraft magazine? I sure do!

KOLMAR: Those MIL's and GRANDMAS make it hard for us to raise good chillun's. You gotta be grateful for the old ladies while they're here, though. Soon enough they're gone forever. Besides--what would we have been without being spoiled by Granny? lol

Sounds like pretty much all of us have king beds! LOL I'll be glad and grateful one of these days to have one, too. DALTONAM turned me on to Craigslist.com. And freecycle.org. One of them surely will have something, and maybe tomorrow we'll get the mattress that lady has! Yeehaw!

Sorry it's been so long with short posts. Lately I've been getting a message that "only registered people" have an answer page view at the bottom of the reply post. wierd.

TONIGHT WAS:

Fish sticks
Fries
Iced tea w/ lemons
Sweet potato pie

Ok I made Chili since it snowing it's butt of outside icon_cry.gif And OMG I want to strangle my cousins DD who I babysit. She has become so picky. My DD wanted mac and cheese and I said no the last few times I made it this girl didn't like mac and cheese icon_cry.gif So I decided to make the chili. But she has had a bean issue as of late. When I made my chili mac dish she said I don't like beans. So tonihgt I am thinking Ok I will strain out the beans in her chili. I did that thinking she would eat it with the hambuger and soup mixture. WRONG. I don't like CHILI icon_mad.gificon_evil.giftapedshut.gif WHAT So I then ask her what does she want to eat. I tell her she could have a cheese sandwich. So when mom come I tell her what happened and she proceeds to tell me that the only way she can get her DD to eat lately is to almost feed her the first few bites and she will eat. I am like OMG she is almost 8 icon_eek.gificon_surprised.gificon_confused.gif Ok I can see that with a toddeler. But an 8 yr old OMG. I will not cater to her any more. What I make is what I make . That is how my family works. And I will not make a special meal for her anymore. And I am not going to sit there with her and feed her a few bites so she sill eat. Dang do I sound mean or what. I know these girls have issues with ADHD but this goes further than that. I know this girl is just starved for attention and just trying to get it when she can. But she isn't going to get it from me that way. SORRY SO LONG BUT OMG

Knox husker chops are just big thick pork chops. Being from Nebraska (Husker) chops Do you get it we are HUSKERS so BIG CHOPS They are a very thick chop (at least an inch thick)and normally when you fry them up they are so juicy. But no I put them in the oven and they dried up. I probably cooked them to long. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif So much for trying something NEW And The kraft mag and newletters rock. Ya that is weird wht you got for your post. Good luck on the bed search thumbs_up.gif

JUJU I breast fed DD as well and it was so much easier to have her in our bed thumbs_up.gif And she just stayed there for almost 8 yrs. But we moved and made it more complicated. But DH had a rotating schedule. And when he was home he wanted to snuggle up to both of us. You just get use to some things. She may have been a big bed hog but she was also a big snuggler. We are a big loven family.Ya It was hard for a few years for DH and I to get some us time icon_razz.gif But We loved having her in our bed. And It was her final decsion to go to her bed for good. It didn't help that her bedroom was in the basement beside her 16 yr. old brother. And he would tease her about spiders. But she has come out of it and sleeps in her room all the time and proud of herself.

This has been on going since the week before winter break for her kids. She sends her hello and looks forward to her return to the table as soon as DH's recovery, and schedule allow. OK I did major POWER LOUNGING today. I am still in jammies from last night. The snow is 6 inches deep and I didn't care to go out in it. I took advantage of it and slept in late. Got up for awhile and laid down with DD and watched a movies and feel asleep again. And I finally livened up enough to cook. My family wanted me to make a big breakfast this morning and I didn't icon_razz.gif So that was what we had for supper. French toast, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs for DS and DD. I was attempting to make a ham and cheese omelet for DH when I went to flip the omelet. The handle broke off the pan icon_cry.gif So he wound up with a scrambled mess. At least it fell on to the stove in the pan. icon_cry.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif My family got a good laugh at least.

j9morabit are you new here to the dinner table?? If so welcome to the table. Your ham dinner sounds totally yummy.

Ohara Do you have the flu bug?? I hope you guys get better soon. And if you talk to glories again tell her we are all thinking of her. And tell her to take care. And chicken and dumpling sound good.

daltonam I have trying out the WASC recipe and have made 3 different versions. The White, French Vanilla, Milk Chocolate. All three are so addicting. I will be putting on the pounds on the butt now. Plus all the snow and not wanting to go out icon_cry.gif Oh well I can pass it off as a learning experience. And I did give most of the cupcakes away. We have been sick back and forth since right after Christmas ending with an ear infection, bacterial conjuntivitis in both eyes and a 103 temp for the little noodle (my 2 yo ds). And lucky me kept catching something else before I could get rid of one thing!

And I've also just plain had the cake blues! Just been too hard to get any projects done with the little one and a cranky dh because of school stress-BLAH!

I only got to read a little bit of what I missed but I'm glad to be back with ya'll!

Usually all the states try to help each other but not this time we all need to take care of our own. So i hope you get others online soon.

I am going to try to go to the doc tomorrow. I am coughing again and hurting in my chest. And the doc said if I didn't get better the last time to come back in and get chest x-Rays. And since the snow has stopped I am going to try tomorrow to get there.

Salt to season
2 1/2 c. water
1 fryer quartered or cut up
Salt and peppered chicken pieces

Put rice, salt and water in crockpot. Put chicken that is salted and peppered over the rice. Then add the can of soup mixed with sour cream and sauce. I have to make dinner for a family tomorrow and not sure what to do. (she had a serious surgery but it went very well) Probly will drop off baked spagetti topped in crispy crumbled up bacon and a layer of melted cheese, garlic bread, honey glazed carrots or some mixed veggies. I had my gall bladder out and alot of things bother me. icon_cry.gif But I put up with it. But where she just had surgery (Spicey means alot more than HOT) I hope that helps. Hey, Y'all!

No sleep last night. Was up until late after doing the two little cakes and clean-up. I did my first ever mini-cake for DS last night. He came home and said, "Mom--since you've got all your stuff out, can you make a birthday cake for my friend Taylor? I'd like to surprise her!" I learned that it costs just as much to make one TINY cake as it does one BIG cake. Literally! All the same stuff--just cut down to size. It was fun, though. icon_smile.gif

So anyway--after not sleeping but an hour or so last night, got up and got him off to school this morning--then a couple more hours before this shift, I'm BEAT DOWN. ouch.gif

Going home tonight and going to bed! After dinner, that is.

Tonight's going to be either pork chops w/oven fry coating or tacos. Whichever he's at home cooking will be what I get!
