HI, all ~

I would love to know what you all prefer, mmf or rolled buttercream on your cookies. I just tried RBC and had to fool with it a little to get the right consistency. I tasted pretty good; now I would like to try the MMF. Can you give me your opinions and why you prefer either?

Thanks,
Julie

I really like the RBC. I think it tastes better and for me, it is easier to work with.

I can't really give you a comparison- but I work with RBC. Never tried MMF, but that's because I love what I already do!

I like rolled buttercream for cookies because it tastes more like I want my cookies to taste. I use marshmallow fondant on cakes because of it's consistency.

I love RBC on cookies and love the taste texture. However, I have a hard time covering a cake with it so I use MMF on cakes. I think with more practice, I'll be able to use the RBC on everything. It melts more in your mouth like BC and MMF has that chewy texture.

You know I am wanting to try one or both of these but I can't find a recipe for either. Granted I am only looking here on CC, but I type in rolled buttercream or Marshmellow fondant and it tells me there are no recipes for either. I mean come on, I heard about the two on here. I find it hard to believe there are no recipes for them on here. What am I missing?

Chrisi, the problem might be your spelling of marshmallow. Try this for the MMF recipes: http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=Recipes&sort=recipename&sort_dir=ASC&op=search&chname=X&chingredients=X&searchtext=Marshmallow+Fondant&cat_id=-1

As for the RBC, I only see one: http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-1603-0-Rolled-Buttercream-Icing-Recipe.html

Well, there are 9 Rolled Buttercream Recipes threads in the link I posted.

Most of the recipes are not listed on CC recipes - just buried in these threads. icon_smile.gif

Sorry, JanH, I should've checked your link before posting another one, but I thought it would be a safe bet to just go to recipes. Live and learn.

OMG, Sugar_Plum_Fairy, no need for an apology.... icon_smile.gif

Just wanted to point out that a single thread can be multi-linked and provide a wealth of information. thumbs_up.gif
