I had a very important birthday cake order lined up...when at the last minute my customer informed me he would rather have a cheesecake.

Okay, no biggie...I do cheesecakes too. I told him no problem, just give me the specifics.

He looked me dead in the eyes and said, "Mommy, do you think Aunt Meghan could do it for me? And if she's too busy do you think MiMi would do it?" icon_confused.gificon_redface.gif

Not only am I not his first pick....I am his THIRD??? And not completely confident that I would even be his third choice right now.....

Man, some customers are way harsh...

Fine...go ahead and have Aunt Meghan do it... but I'm keeping the deposit!

It sounds like you are better off without the order if they act like that.

I had to edit this because I forgot to mention that I have had that happen to me with my family, and the next time they wanted a cake I made them beg icon_wink.gif

Too cute! I was "fired" by my son for his "actual" birthday cake (he wanted an ice cream cake), but he was so nice that he was "willing" to let me do the cake for his birthday party with his friends. icon_razz.gif

chefcindy there are 364 un-birthdays in a year. If your Alice in Wonderland. And I haven't been fired just yet. I do see it coming in the near future. Hope I take it as well as you. Hugs and LOL.

Too cute.

I think I sort of lost a job yesterday. My oldest asked me if I could make him a Ben 10 cake for his 6th birthday - March, 2008, then my 2 3/4 old son, said, "Mommy I want a Ben 10 cake for my birthday" - July, 2007.
Then the oldest said. "You cannot have a Ben 10 cake for your birthday until you are 5 years old, you are too small at 3 years old!"
He did say his younger brother could have a Buzz Lightyear or Superman cake! There is enough time for both of them to change their minds several times over and over and over!

I guess I will just have to wait for the order and have them sign a contract and put a deposit down! Then no changing your mind or I'll have to call him CakeBoyzilla or something!

Good luck !

Well, today's the day...his annual cinco de mayo/birthday party....

He woke up asking about when everyone was coming today...and the next question was, "Now, Aunt Meghan's coming right???"

He is soooo worried about his cheesecake!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

It just makes me laugh....Maybe he was trying to do me a favor, right?
He knew I would be SO busy getting everything else ready for the party that was thought he was trying to help me out by having someone else do his cheesecake......right??? icon_confused.gif

Naaaaahhhh.....

The funny thing was the look on my older son's face when Grant was asking for someone else to make it.....my 10 year old looked at him like he was delusional, like "what are you talking about??"

Then the hilarious part was when you could actually see my oldest son's facial expression shift from thinking his brother was totally crazy to worried how I was reacting!!!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I'll remember this birthday for a long time! icon_wink.gif
