I read somewhere on here about wondering if Wilton was having another contest. I was on the wilton site and here it is..... they sweetened the deal if you win also. here is the link... anyone going to enter?

Did you check out the Kid's Birthday cake winner? That Dora looks a little menacing to me!! Yikes!!
I don't know if I'm going to enter--to chicken--but I think there are some wonderful decorators here that should submit a photo or two.
Going to the Master Classes would be SO cool!!!
Lisa
Diane ~ it does say legal residents of the 50 United States. It doesn't say that you have to be here.
Deb
Godiva ~ you would do well with any of your creations!
Debbie
WOW!!!!
That would be totally cool to win something like that...
After viewing the winners of last yr.....I don't think I have a chance...
I agree about that Dora...LOL....
Good luck to those that enter...
I just loved that diaper bag cake....She must be a very creative person.
cakegal
Yep... that is a scary dora! I think i'm going to try to come up with something for this contest. I just wish I didn't have to compete with people who have a culinary arts degree and 20+ years experience! What does a professional like that need the class for? It should be for people who still have a lot of techniques to learn! ok... sorry about the ranting. ![]()
i was very excited about the contest, until i looked at last years entries...and realized that i could never seriously compete with them. i wish they would offer an amature contest, so most of us could stand a chance.![]()
oh, well
melody
Me either melody!! I'm not even close to being anything as good as those entries are!! I'm too chicken to enter any of my cake pics or do even do a cake for the contest.. lol ... maybe someday *sigh*
I know the feeling! The don't list any criteria besides being a resident. People that make cakes for a living don't need the classes. Maybe we should recommend an amature class to them.

GOOD IDEA THECAKEMAKER. THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO ME. DO YOU THINK THAT THEY WOULD LISTEN AND BE UP FOR THAT?
Maybe if they hear from enough of us! Let's start e-mailing!
I think that is an awesome idea!! An amateur cake contest would be great fun to have... I will surely email them that suggestion!! I hope others from here will too!!!
Wow!!
You guys weren't kidding! ![]()
I just saw last year's winners. They're pro's!!
Why would they need to win classes at the school???
People like us need that!!
Let us know if anyone gets a reply from Wilton about the amateur contest,
or if more of us should email them.
Thanks

Wow..I feel a little intimidated about entering this contest, but those with more confidence go for it!!! I entered the cakecentral's mothers day contest because I feel like a family here.. But where would I start, how would I come up with a different idea, a unique idea..hmm..this really is interesting, but scary!!!
Sounds interesting...
I am considering applying and submitting...Donno if I should make something new though or submit a picture from here, maybe the purse...
I would love to win that 2 week class!!!
You really should Godiva! Your cakes are fabulous! It would be so exciting for someone from CC to win. I thought about submitting one of my cakes too...one I'd already done but they require a front view photo and an aerial view one. I haven't taken any aerial view photos. Might just try to slip past with 2 front views.
I was told by someone who went to the Wilton school and she said that Wiltons take on cake contest are if they are going to pay for someone to come and take their course then they want someone who already knows the basics and can make a cake look like it. So that the person gets the most from the course, after all its called a Master Course or something? I dont know if I believe her, she's disgruntled because she didnt "pass" whatever that meant.
