I have been a member here since November and I am addicted to this site! We went on vacation recently and I was having severe withdrawal.
Anyway, I have only made cakes for friends and family. I have been way too intimidated to post any of my efforts here but I finally said, "What the heck!" so I have uploaded some pictures.
I welcome any comments or pointers you might have.
I think they are great. The frosting on your anniversary cake is so smooth! ![]()

Excellent job! I don't know why you were so intimidated. Your cakes are lovely. You did a fantastic job!
Your cakes are so lovely, I'm with the others, I may need to ask you for some pointers! I see you're from Texas....there's a Cake and Sugar Art show this weekend in McKinney, are you anywhere close where you can attend?? A few of us are going to try and meet there.
you did really well and i would love your pointer on course 3 flowers as I didn't get to learn then and need to take the course over so I can and yours a sooo pretty
Thank you all for your kind comments. I have taken the 3 Wilton classes over the past couple of years but until this year I have usually only made about 2 cakes a year. Now with my son in pre-school I am doing more.
The petunias are pretty easy. They are like doing a wild rose or that type of petaled flower in a lily nail. Use the 1 5/8th inch lily nail and put the foil all the way into it. Use tip 103 to make 5 petals and tip 16 for the center and place 5 stamens in the center. It is in my course III book but I have not been able to find visuals online for you look at. I will keep looking.
Cindy
