I left the office today with the intentions of buying a hot chocolate. Well on my way through the shopping plaza to get my hot chocolate there was a book sale. The Public Library was having a sale to getting rid of some of it's discarded books. Well I went in with the intention of "just browsing". I found the cookbooks section and quickly seached through them and this is what I found. Two vintage Wilton books, hard cover. Celebrate! Omnibus and Celebrate! V - jubillee edition. Well they begged be to buy them and carry them home. Needless to say I could not resist buying them. Oh, and I did not end up getting that hot chocolate either. To top it off I was late for my meeting. But none of that matters... I got the books!!!!!!!!!!
Here are pics of the books. The condition of them is pretty good considering they were library books
congratulations on your find!
Don't you love it when that kind of thing happens?!?!
Yea I thought it was a pretty cool find too. I had walked away from the table after not seeing any books of interest at first glance but for some reason I went back and that's when I found them.
Awesome find. I have a whole bunch of Wilton vintage year books. (circa 1960's) I love looking through them. I haven't used any of their designs yet, since all my cakes have been for younger people wanted more modern designs. I hope to use some of the cake ideas soon though.
Hi: I had all of the wilton books dated back in the '70's. I think with all the moving that I have done those two books got lost. However, all thru the moves I have made I still have my 3 encyclopodias (sp) of wiltons. I love looking through them and seeing what amazing things can be done with icing. They keep me striving to learn, learn, and learn. I love cake decorating. Vicki0052.
OK I am off to the library book sale. It's fill a bag with as many books as possible for $1 day. Hopefully I will find more cake books.
These ones were $2 each.
If I find anything interesting I will be sure to post it.
Have a good day everyone.
You're so lucky!
Wish there were sales as good as that around here!
