After flirting with serious cake making in the past, I finally took the plunge and bought some goodies at a local decorating stores. I live in MD near Baltimore, and there are a couple of good supply stores nearby.
Here is my first effort. I do not like the stamps around the top edge, the color balance between the brush powder around the roses is not a good match to the fondant, and the edge of fondant around the bottom leaves something to be desired. All in all, I am pretty happy with it.
I would love to hear from others...criticisms, thoughts, suggestions!
Very good job for a first timer! Your marbling is very good. It's really good that you're able to step back and be critical of your own work. That's what makes you better the next time.
