I delivered my first wedding cake today. I was a nervous wreck last night. I was up till 2:30am. Everything went pretty smooth today, but yesterday was a different story. When I was putting the top layer on the 18" cake it cracked down the center and I had to rebake it. I was pretty pleased with how it came out, which is surprising because I am always very critical of my work. The puff base I made from Earlene's instructions. I love how that came out. I just wanted to share it with all of you.
Wow, really clean looking! I love it! How did you do the puff base? Would you share?
Your wedding cake is so beautiful. You should be so very proud. I have Earlene's puff base instructions. Was it time consuming and tedious?
Thanks everyone! I used pearl dust on the bows and I got an impression mat in the clay sculpting products at Micheal's it was a cross type pattern. I used buttercream icing smoothed with a Viva towel. I got the instruction for the puff base off Earlene's website and it wasn't very hard to do. The instructions read more complicated than they actually are. After I got the wood, styrofoam and material I completed it in one evening. Thanks again for all compliments.
This is sooo gorgeous!! i love the style, colors, and wow is your icing smooth!!!!!!! I have a great big wedding cake next week...I'm sooo excited!
