Winter Trees
I always loved LoveiscakeUK's Winter Christmas cupcakes, so I was just playing around with some cookie dough and decided to replicate them in cookie form. They are as close a copy as I could make freehanded, and not only did they look pretty on the table, but I got a good laugh at my husband and daughter's blue tongues!

3D Cowboy Boot With Piped Stitching
This was made for my daughter's birthday. She said I needed a challenge! Thankfully sugarlaced had some wonderfully helpful instructions in the forum. The piped stitching was the hardest part, since my daughter wanted it to look like aqua and white stitches. The cupcakes have lassos and cowboy hats in coordinated colors.

Tigger Sushi
Tigger has always been my son's favorite character, and since he had a Tigger cake for his first birthday, I wanted to do something Tigger related for his 18th, too. Of course it couldn't be too juvenile. He's into sushi so I really wanted to combine the two ideas. Thanks to marthajo1 and 7yyrt who told me about the "Finding Nemo Sushi" and gave me the idea! The cake was Black Russian with a Kahlua IMBC frosting. He loved it!

Standing Gingy From Shrek
This is Gingy from the new Shrek movie. I decorated the cakeboard to look like the trowel he is standing on in the movie. Gingy is entirely cake- WASC with a modified Vanilla IMBC, covered in fondant. This was a graduation gift for a friend's daughter. She and her three closest friends went to see the movie and arrived home to this cake as a surprise.

Chocolate Cheesecake With Pulled Sugar Decoration
This is a chocolate cheesecake with a spiral design made with dark and white ganaches. I topped it with a sugar Ten Commandments made of pulled and then molded sugar. This was to celebrate Shavuos, the Jewish holiday commemorating the giving of the Torah.

Butterfly Birthday Cupcake
This was a birthday cupcake for a little girl who turned one over Passover. It is a Chocolate Cupcake with ganache. The decorations are made from my experimental kosher for Passover MMF. The MMF was finicky to work with, so I'll have to try to perfect it before next Passover.

Cherry Blossom Passover Cake
This was a Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake with ganache and covered in my experimental kosher for Passover MMF. I only had red, yellow, green and blue food coloring (all I can find kosher for Passover) so I had to play around to get my colors right. The MMF was finicky to work with, but I'm happy with the results since I've never seen a fondant covered Passover cake. The birthday "girl" said she has never had a pretty birthday cake before, having grown up eaten Manischewitz cakes every year.

Mount Sinai Bar Mitzvah Cake
This cake represents part of the boy's Torah portion, when it describes God descending on Mt. Sinai to give the Ten Commandments. The Torah says "there were thunder claps and lightning flashes, and a thick cloud was upon the mountain, and a very powerful blast of a shofar.....Mount Sinai smoked because the Lord had descended upon it in fire." Finally, Jewish tradition says that even though the mountain was in the desert, it bloomed when God spoke. Half the cake was yellow cake w/lemon SMBC and the other half was chocolate w/vanilla SMBC. I used ganache under the fondant for the first time, and it was wonderful!

High Priest's Garments Bar Mitzvah Cake
This cake was the process of a year's worth of learning and practice. It served 300 people and had 4 flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, Lemon and Heavenly Pumpkin Spice (CC recipe). The cake was designed as a table with the table top and garments being removable so it could be used as a decoration at a party that evening as well. Everything was handmade of fondant/gumpaste, molded (scratch made) hard candy, royal icing and painted details. Definitely the most complicated and best work I have done to date.

Electric Guitar Cake
This cake is a replica of the birthday boy's new electric guitar. The child requested this directly from me (bypassing his parents) 3 months ago! Chocolate cake, buttercream and fondant accents. Strings are the only inedible part, After reading a lot of previous posts I decided to go with metallic thread. It is about 3/4 size of the real guitar. i used a 12 x 18 cake and cut and pieced it.

Chinese Take Out Boxes
First attempt at this cake from Confetti Cakes. Lemon Cake with Raspberry Filling and Lemon SMBC, covered in fondant. In many places Jewish families go out for Chinese Food on Christmas Eve or Christmas (because Chinese restaurants are open), but here in Raleigh we don't have any kosher restaurants. Instead someone held a party and the invites were titled, "You're invited to a party, because we don't have a Chinese Restaurant!". Everyone loved that it tied into the theme.

Brown And Teal Flowers
This is my version of nefgaby's beautiful cake. My daughter has had her eye on this cake for a while so I did it for her b-day. Top tier - 6" lemon cake with vanilla frosting and filling, bottom tier- 9" chocolate cake w/peanut butter frosting and filling. I'm very pleased with how this one came out. First attempt at a wire topper.

3 D Dreidel Cake
This is a 3D dreidel cake about 9" tall. I used half a styrofoam ball carved to make the bottom. I used 2 5" square cakes to make the top portion. I was determined to prove to myself that I could do this (structurally), so I didn't spend a lot of time on the decorating part. But now that I know, next time I'll have fun with the decorating part!
