First cake for icing smiles! The little boy requested a military cake and expressed an interest in tanks so I decided to make the whole cake a tank. It is supposed to be an m1 Abrams. It's about 17x8 inches half chocolate half vanilla with Liz marek fondant and satin ice gumpaste. because the birthday boy can't have artificial dyes I used a tbl cocoa in the fondant to turn it beige. The wheels section is using artificial dyes but he can easily avoid. I used cocoa to dust the cake and give it that weathered sort of look. This was fun!
Mountain Biking Cake
Cake for a friend to replicate a particular rock on a nearby trail.12 inch and 9 inch cakes carved into the hill shape. Hard to get 26 inch long piece of fondant on to cover it but since it was a lumpy mountain perfection didn't matter! figures are gumpaste, disaster with them melting from humidity but I managed to save them. Thanks for looking !
Vw Camper Van
Vw camper van cake. Vanilla cake and buttercream homemade Marshmallow fondant first time using Liz marek recipe and I liked it a lot! Will use from now on. Dog is formed from Rice Krispie treats and covered in fondant bike is all fondant. Everything completely edible Lot of fun making this but it also took way longer than I expected !
"oh The Places You'll Go" Pull Apart Cupcake Cake
This is a cupcake cake I made for my daughters pre k graduation tomorrow. 6x4 vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting. The stripes are done with buttercream. Other accents are MMF
My Little Pony Rainbow Dash Cake
Bottom layer is a six layer rainbow vanilla cake top layer is chocolate cake. Homemade fondant on cake with gumpaste decorations and ponies.
Gum paste rainbow dash. I used a toothpick in each leg then stuck into the Cloud then into foam. When firm I trimmed the bottom of the toothpicks and put a little extra white under the cloud so it could stand alone. Definitely had some sagging issues on the legs and it's lilting to one side but it's all a learning process right ;)
Star Wars Cake
I made this Star Wars cake for my nephews 5th birthday. It was fun because I made the characters one by one in the weeks before. I used gum paste and skewers. The fondant is marshmallow homemade but it was too soft so it's pretty lumpy, but nobody seemed to notice. A fun cake
