Disaster Of A Croquembouche
So this looks pretty good, but after 4 hours the cream puffs started falling off!! Does anyone know what could have caused this? I was thinking that maybe the wet raspberries moistened the sugar, or the cream puffs were too soft or too heavy, so gravity took over, but honestly I thought that dried hot sugar was like cement! I would appreciate thoughts if anyone has ideas. . . http://cupofsugarpinchoflove.blogspot.com/2015/12/crumbling-croquembouche.html

Apple Bouquet Pie
So this isn't actually a cake (obviously) but the pie was so beautiful, I had to share. Ever since I saw this apple maple custard pie on Facebook, I've been dying to try it. I highly recommend it -- everyone loved the taste and the visual. http://cupofsugarpinchoflove.blogspot.com/2015/12/a-bouquet-of-apples.html

Wine Bottle Cake
Crate is filled with cake. Sides of crate and wine bottle made from gumpaste and label is edible frosting sheet. Wood shavings are toasted coconut. Much easier than I thought it would be to create, although very time consuming. Worth it to see my husband's face when he saw his birthday cake, though! http://cupofsugarpinchoflove.blogspot.com/2015/12/toasting-with-cake.html

C-4, Aka Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Cake, Aka Chocolate Explosion Cake
I made this birthday cake for my brother -- it's chocolate fudge cake, filled with white chocolate whipped filling and topped with chocolate fudge frosting. Finished with kit-kats and white chocolate drizzle on top and rolled in m and m's on the side. (He likes chocolate lol) The image looks a little weird, because I had to crop out the saran wrap from the sides (it was the only way to move the 2 ton cake without things falling off lol) http://cupofsugarpinchoflove.blogspot.com/2015/10/c-4-chocolate-explosion.html

Anniversary Cake
This is a cake that I made for my anniversary. I wanted to experiment with using whipped cream under fondant -- and I have to say that it worked pretty well. I wouldn't wait a long time between making and serving, but otherwise no issues with the whipped cream seeping. The decoration was done with gold leaf and with a gumpaste fantasy flower.

Retirement Cake
Made this retirement cake for my mom -- top tier is a strawberry cake with white chocolate whipped cream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting, bottom tier is a pineapple cake with whipped cheesecake flavored filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. Flowers and clock are made of gumpaste -- writing on the clock done with an edible marker. Borders piped with royal icing.
