I designed this cake after having taken Rachael Teufel’s Craftsy class – Cake Design Made Simple: The Wedding Dress. I was inspired by the gorgeous flower girl dresses that are available on line. I chose the colour mint since it is rather trendy at the moment and most suitable for a little girl. The top tier mimics a lacy bodice, and the skirt has ruffles off set to the right with satin drapes. White satin fabric roses adorn the neckline of the ‘bodice’ and a larger satin rose sits on the ‘waistline’. The two tiers comprising this cake are 8” and 6” in size. (Vanilla cake with strawberry filling on the bottom tier and caramel filling on the top tier). Everything is covered in fondant and all decorations are also fondant.

This cake was for a friend who was celebrating her 40th birthday with a hoedown party. The cake was designed to match the invitation. The hay bale consisted of two 8" x 12" cakes stacked upon each other. One was vanilla and the other was chocolate cake. It was approximately 9" tall. It was covered in butter icing.The hat was a 5" cake covered in fondant. All the decorations were fondant. The cake was photographed at the venue and stood on a bale of hay.
This cake was for a little boy who wanted an army cake with a mountain. The bottom cake was a 12" square vanilla cake with caramel filling and the 'mountain' was the same. Everything was covered in butter icing with fondant decorations. The soldiers were plastic.
