The Very Stacked Hungry Caterpillar
It was a wonderful day today. I had the pleasure of making a Hungry Caterpillar themed cake for gorgeous little mans first birthday and dedication. Months ago when my friend told me the theme and it had to serve 100 people, I knew I finally had the chance to go crazy! It stood one and a half metres tall and just fit in the car. It traveled fully assembled one and a half hours away to the party and made it with no incidents. The details – the 12 inch square base tier was 5 layers of Red Velvet with vanilla butter cream tinted yellow, green, orange and blue. The 2nd tier (the Cherry Pie) was a 10" round with a cut out wedge. It was fudgy choc mud with dark choc ganache. The cupcake was Banana cake with a solid chocolate cup and multi coloured banana butter cream layers ♥ It sat proudly on the most incredible dessert table created by my amazing friend Leesa Holt…she is a party planner extraordinaire! Well done Leesa! x It was a perfect day, only marred by a thunderstorm that swept through drenching everyone AND the cake! Yikes!! Luckily we had plenty of before storm photos :) I LOVED making this cake! Happy Birthday gorgeous Riley! :) xx

Ballerina Tutu Corset
I made this cake for a fundraising party being held to assist in sending a gorgeous girl and her fabulous team of dancers to the US. I was given free reign with the design and as it wasn’t one of my usual crazy busy weeks, I went to town! I really enjoyed making this as it looks far more difficult than it actually was. Now I want to try some different variations of it…maybe a shmexy black corset? :)

This Is My Contribution To The Cakenweenie Collaboration To Celebrate Tim Burtons 55Th Birthday Catwoman Is Made Of A 5050 Mix Of Fondant
This is my contribution to the Cakenweenie Collaboration to celebrate Tim Burton's 55th Birthday. Catwoman is made of a 50/50 mix of fondant and modelling chocolate over a wire armature. Her Cat suit stitches and eyes are hand painted, including the silver eyelets on her boots. Her laces are piped royal icing. Her room is all fondant with a cut out around ‘HELL HERE’ for the hot pink glow sticks to shine through.

Who Stole The Cookie From The Cookie Jar?
I recently made this cake for little Jesse, the son of a very dear friend. For his 1st birthday, I made him a Thomas the Tank Engine and he was very upset when poor Thomas got the chop! So this year, I made a plan so he could keep Cookie for his bedroom :) The Cookie jar is a 6 inch white choc mud with white choc ganache on the bottom and a 6 inch chocolate mud cake with choc ganache carved into the top of the jar. I designed the cake to have a completely separate, ready-to-go Cookie Monster topper for Jesse's Mum to save. The lid is styro and I just removed Jesse's name from the cake board and stuck it on the jar lid as a keepsake. Naughty Cookie Monster got hungry on the trip to the park and started chomping on Jesse's 2! :)

Jemima Puddle Duck Finds A Home
A few months ago I was privileged to make my second Cake Central Magazine cake. The theme was Beatrix Potter Baby Shower cakes...my book was The Tale of Johnny Town Mouse.....I REALLY wanted to make Jemima Puddle Duck again so I designed my whole submission around a stack of Beatrix Potter books so I could show the characters coming to life from the stories....great plan right??? Hmmm....when I assembled the cake, little Jemima wouldn't fit!! Her bum was too big haha! Poor Jemima....never mind, now she has a home :)

Wish Upon A Star
I made this cake recently to celebrate the arrival of Riley...the newest and youngest member of our wonderful gang. I have wanted to make something like this for a while. I love Forever Friends bears and love hand painting on cakes so tried to do as many fun techniques on this one as I could. Thanks for looking :) x

The 24 Hour Shoe Cake :)
This cake was for Holly’s lovely teacher Mrs Blackley. In my mind it started off as a small cake and with just 24 hours notice it grew to a large cake for 90 (the whole small school) with a full size stiletto on it! What a rush! At 4am I was convinced it was going to be a disaster…by 6am I was slightly less panicked. Mrs Blackley loved it. Happy Birthday Mrs Blackley! :) xx

Pretty In Pink
Lovely Brooke thinks my vanilla cake with white choc ganache is pretty yummy. So when she contacted my about her 30th birthday, I decided to surprise her with an extended tier so she would have left over cake to enjoy after her party. She wasn’t sure what she wanted, just as long as it was ‘pretty and pink’. The flowers are my first attempt at filler flowers (I have to find time to watch Jacqueline Butler’s Craftsy class) and the Quatrefoil stencil on the side is Royal Icing. Thanks for looking :)
