Happy Birthday To Me!
White amaretto cake with three layers of mango filling iced with a vanilla bean butter cream. The orchids, bamboo and ornamental grass are all gum paste. A very special thank you to scratch,sf for providing me with a wonderful white cake recipe. The flavor combos were very yummy -no leftovers. Thanks for looking :)

This is a practice cake showing a couple of the techniques I've learned from CC recently. The cakes are dummies. Thanks to dabear for billowing, Linda W. for folding (used on the cake board and there is a forum post that I can't seem to find again on posey assembly. Enjoy and thank you all for sharing all your techniques.

Mother & Son Cake
Lavender fondant covered Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache & raspberry filling. Modeling chocolate embellishments and roses (thanks to Frecklepuss for posting recipe) Not sure how I feel about this one. I wanted to put a few more decorations but the " Son" likes it the way it is. First time working with modeling chocolate & ganache so I'm pleased about that. Thank you for looking.

Flowers For Gran
Butter pound cake with lemon/orange filling. The Rattan basket was made using 8, 9, 10 inch pans carved into shape and covered with fondant . The weave was made by atttaching the basket spines and then adding strips to create the look, finishing with a wash of diluted gel color mixed with vodka. All flowers are gum paste. There are lilacs, tulips, jonquils, roses, viola, lily of the valley and pansies.
