Macaron Thanksgiving
I made these macarons for the family gathering this year. Chocolate/salted caramel, Pistachio, Berry, Coffee/spiced mocha smbc and pumpkin with a white chocolate pumpkin ganache The platter is isomalt and the turkey boy is a 50/50 mix. I used Linda Wolf's "Have Mercy" tutorial and changed the sign. Happy Thanksgiving everyone - may your day be filled with joy :)

Birthday Cake For My Son 26 Today Chocolate With Fresh Raspberry Filling And Dark Chocolate Ganache Gum Paste Orchids Bamboo And Buds
Birthday cake for my son (26 today). Chocolate with fresh raspberry filling and dark chocolate ganache. Gum paste orchids, bamboo and buds. I used the paneling technique for the first time with the black fondant. The white squares are made from fondant strips with 45 degree angle cuts. Stenciled Asain Characters and painted in gold. The character you cand see means Love. Much more labor intensive than I anticipated but I am pleased. Cake stand by BatterUpCakes.

Edible Image Flower
Edible Image Flower: I lamented white and turquoise gum paste through a pasta machine to setting 6 on my machine. Cut out petals using peony cutters after applying the image to the white side. Let the petals dry and edged in gold. Chocolate was used to construct the flower and finished with gold dragees. Thanks for looking :)

A Little Romance
This cake was featured in the September issue of Cake Central Magazine, in the Less is More, Violet Charm section. I am so honored and still excited to be asked to contribute to the magazine. 8", double 6" and 4" tiers covered in fondant, adorned with edible pearls and diamonds. The little bouquet of flowers are gum paste. TFL

Elmo Birthday Cake
This was my first child's birthday cake for a close friend. It was huge! 14x14x8.5 Chocolate and Vanilla WASC cakes with SMBC. Elmo is 14" high, made from RKT /royal icing. Although I'm not thrilled with the finals results there were firsts and many lessons learned. I have a new respect for those who bake large cakes. My friend and all the party guests were very happy.

Teacup With Violets
My first gum paste teacup. I followed the tutorial at SugarTeachers by Jacque Benson. The violets were printed on wafer paper (because I can't paint to save my life ? lol) and highlighted with petal dust to soften the cut edges. I am very pleased with the results as it was fashioned after one of my Mother?s teacups.

Black & White With Peony
Alternating layers of dark Choc. & White Amaretto w/ raspberry filling and SMBC. Covered with black fondant and Chocolate lace from pearl clay (Thank you Jennifer Dontz). Gum paste Peony and lace butterfly. The cake was raffled off in our little community Spring Fling. I donated the cake and the entire dessert table.

Snowball Fun
Inspired by a toy I saw in a catalog that just needed to be made into a cake. Chocolate cake with SMBC, covered with cherry flavored fondant. Bucket is 6,7,8 inch layers. snowballs are RTK painted with white chocolate and rolled in coconut. All other decorations are fondant. MY last cake of 2011 was a lot of fun! Thank you for looking :)
