Just did this for a wedding shower. The umbrella is made if gumpaste (first time using it). Chocolate cake, buttercream icing.
My Sister's Wedding
I made it for my sister's wedding. Hope the top tier last longer than her last marriage did. 1st wedding cake I've ever done.
Yeah, I know, not a lot to it, but I was in a major hurry for my little girl and her Valentine's Day party. It's simple and quick, 30 minutes to decorate. Little colored sugar on top and it's good enough for the kiddies. They didnt care, they just wanted to stuff their faces.
Christmas mice. Caramel Kisses on chocolate dipped cherries. Almond slivers for the ears. Sitting on an oreo. Piping gel for the eyes and holly. The only mouse worth eating. Real ones are too gamey.
Just Another Cake
I wanted to try the diamond pattern, so I made this. I was pretty pleased in how it turned out. Pretty easy to do. Buttercream icing.
A Cake For My Momma..cause I Love Her!
2 layer devils food chocolate cake, raspberry filling, buttercream frosting, cornelli lace, fine tip. Made with love for my momma...(cause she'll probably read this..).
Butter cream frosting on French Vanilla cake, 2 layer 10 inch. The little bears are made from fondant. The blanket from fondant. The booties...ahhhh...the cute wittle booties...hadnt put them on yet. So...use your imagination. But imagine "Ooooohhh...that's sooo cute!"
Just another cake. Need a cake category thats titled "Practice cakes." Anyhow, 1st basketweave cake. Not bad, not great. I think the vertical weaves could be closer together. Buttercream on devils food chocolate.
A Cake To Give Away
2 layer buttercream. Made for nothing in particular. I'll give it away. Im not sure how I like the yellow on the bottom border. I think I probably should have let it alone. You know..you think.."It needs something" and then you do it and think "Now why did I do that!?"
Just A Plain Ol Birthday Cake
Chocolate cake, with buttercream frosting. You can only put so much about a cake. Hey, it's a cake..what else can I say? Today was hot and humid, temperatures in the 90s. It's not the heat..it's the humidity...
I made this for my wife. Chocolate icing, chocolate cake and chocolate ganache filling. Small leaves under the top border. The icing was not as smooth as I'd like it, and I my grapes sorta sucked (wrong angle on the bag). I realized this too late. I've only been at this for about a month, so Im learning. Any helpful hints are appreciated. I wanted to cover the cake board, but I was assured that it would not last long enough to go to the trouble.
